Dear World Imaging,
We are going to advertise a book called "The Book of Jonah – A New Israeli Commentary" by Teachers at the Hebrew University. The book will be printed several thousand copies (in our opinion), and two years after its publication in print, it will be uploaded to the Internet, free to all comers.
The book is a comprehensive interpretation of the Book of Jonah, accompanied by discussions about the history of the biblical book in literature and Jewish-Israeli culture throughout the generations.
As part of this, we ask your grant permission to include in the book (and in our website later on) the image: AssyrianWarship.jpg [1]
Your response by email would be greatly appreciated. Carmel.gorni@gmail.com

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. You picture of salt evaporation pond?

edit

Greetings,

I am Howard Perlman, a hydrologist with the US Geological Survey. I run a site Water Science for Schools (http://ga.water.usgs.gov/edu/). I am currently doing a major upgrade and am looking for a picture of an evaporation pond for getting salt.

I was looking for good pictures and I found your picture at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:MaraisSalant.JPG

So, I want to ask for your permission to use the picture in my new site. I certainly would provide a credit to your site and could add a link to your page, if you wanted it. So, please let me know if this is acceptable or not.

My Communications people (who are VERY strict about this kind of thing) here have been saying I need to get your written (email, I guess) permission to use your picture on my site.

Hello PHGCOM,

First, I want to say I'm not perfect in english so I'll try my best to write this message without trouble. Plus, I don't know a lot of things about copyright, so... here is it :

I'd like to ask your permission to use and remix your picture of the Pazuzu statue for an artistic and, for the moment, free purpose. One of my work in 2010 was based on The Exorcist, and I recently worked on an unedited picture to complete the project, with the statue incorporated in that picture.

If it's ok with you, well thank you. But if you're against it, just tell me and I will take it off my website. I've already put the picture there with a link to the wiki page of the picture (but to be honest, I don't really know how to appropriately attribute the work.)

Vielen Dank!

Thanks for uploading File:Martyrdom of Saint Augustin Schoeffler 1851 Vietnam.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

File:Aghlabids_Tunisia_880_CE.jpg

edit

Dear PGHCOM,

Sorry to say this coin is neither Aghlabid nor was it struck in 880 CE. It's a dinar from Misr (Egypt) of the year 267 AH, therefore struck under Ahmad ibn Tulun of the Tulunid dynasty. It is all there in the Arabic inscription, as anyone versed in Kufic epigraphy will tell you. Therefore, for the sake of the article's accuracy, I shall be removing it from the "Aghlabids" article and replacing it with a more suitable image of a coin actually struck under the Aghlabids.

edit

Hello, I am an university student and while it may be not the most orthodox of academic procedures I would like to use your representation of the Stupa based on Domenico Faccenna's "Butkara I, Swat Pakistan, 1956-1962". It is very hard to find materials on the Indo-Greek kingdoms on physical formats where I live and web sources are far and few, I would have no access to that representation otherwise.

I will credit 'World Imaging' as well as the source material.

I would like to thank You for your work, it fills many voids in popular knowledge.

Dosedpenny (talk) 11:52, 24 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm following the post I sent yesterday because I found another great compilation work of yours, the chronology of the Indo-Greek Kingdoms territorial conquests, explorations and embassies. You seem to have compiled the following sources: Historical Atlas of the Indian Peninsula, Oxford University Press; Coin Types of the Indo-Greek Kings, Narain, A.K.; Großer Atlas zur Weltgeschichte, Westermann Schulbuch.

Again, it is a great service of yours to everyone interested in this subject, such a well presented map would be nearly impossible to find, I wouldn't be surprised if yours is the only one.

Would you mind if I include it in my University paper with due credit to 'PHGCOM (World Imaging)' and the sources I wrote above?

Thank you for your time.

A barnstar for you!

edit
  The Original Barnstar
Dear PGHCOM,
I have just written a book called "A Journey to Faith" which follows the genealogy of the Bible from Abraham to Jesus. I use charts, maps, illustrations and photos to bring what I write about to life. Ptolemy VI Philometor was one of the rulers who contested the Province of Judea that the Jewish people were living in (part of modern day Israel) when it was part of Coele-Syria. This beautiful ring picture (file mage: Ptolemy_VI_Philometor_ring.jpg) that you have posted of Ptolemy VI Philometor shows how he looked and gives the reader the opportunity to know what he looked like.

I would love to ask for permission to use this beautiful photograph in my book.

I look forward to hearing from you - kind regards, Paul Brunton. PaulBrunton64 (talk) 09:18, 27 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, while it says "Ratification", this is actually two pages (perhaps 2 and 3, though that's impossible to tell) of the treaty itself. Now, it may be that the whole treaty was included in the ratification document, so this may then be part of the ratification document as well, and it would be nice to know for sure. It is anyway not the ratification itself. It is incidentally very useful because it confirms an otherwise very unexpected reading of one word in the text, so it is great that this is available online. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 95.42.67.66 (talk) 06:50, 25 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Using Song dynasty Chinese junk Image in publication

Dear World Imaging,

I am writing on behalf of Ming-Ai (London) Institute, to ask for your full name to be printed in one of our upcoming publications.

We will be using one of your authored images, the Song dynasty Chinese junk image in publication. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:SongJunk.jpg

Ming-Ai is a non-profit educational charity organisation based in the UK which was established in 1993. We run a Master degree programme (validated by the Middlesex University, UK) in Chinese Cultural Heritage Management, and also develop and research culture heritage projects especially on the subjects of British Chinese.

We are currently working on an oral history project which is about the former Hong Kong governors' vessel, Lady Maurine (慕蓮夫人號). The outcome of this project is to publish a book on its history. Project website for your reference: http://www.britishchineseheritagecentre.org.uk/projects/lady-maurine

Permission to use image

Hi!

My name is Luíza Lopes, I'm an history major at UERJ (Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and a member of the study group PEM UERJ. We are releasing a free ebook on medieval historic figures and my chapter is about Irene of Athens. I've found an image that you have uploaded here in wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irene_of_Athens#/media/File:Constantine_VI_and_Irene_780_790_gold_4410mg.jpg) and was wondering if you would give permission, please, for us to use it in the book. We will not have any financial return in it, for it will be free to download and destined primarily to school teachers to use in their classes.

In advance I already thank you for your time to read my message. Have a good day!
