British English: These sites may be classed as a full 'Royal Air Force station' (as defined by approval of the monarch of the United Kingdom and the granting of a station badge), or Royal Air Force sites without official 'station' in their name (typically satellite airfield facilities which are parented by another RAF station), to advanced landing grounds known simply by a letter and numbers.
It is important to note that not all full Royal Air Force stations included an aerodrome; these were typically locations for administrative headquarters, training establishments, bombing ranges, or radar sites, such as RAF Bentley Priory, RAF Locking, RAF Donna Nook, or RAF Neatishead.
