Files from Pattrön on Flickr

[edit]

Pattrön (photostream) on Flickr has been proposed for addition to COM:QFI since May. At the time, I found one image where another Flickr user was complaining about having their work nicked by Pattrön. The file has since been deleted from Pattrön's photostream. A quick look shows that the uploads from this account are clearly taken from a wide range of sources, rather than being the uploader's own work to license. The Flickr uploader is probably identical to Pattron (talk, contribs, log), who was permanently banned from Commons in 2006 after uploading 132 copyright violations in 37 days. All files (except the two derivatives) were uploaded to Commons by User:Green88 (talk, contribs, log) and added to articles on Spanish Wikipedia shortly after upload by es:User:Pattron.

  •  Delete A look through the flickr stream shows enough photos of living people that were obviously taken from other sources (a photo at the UN headquarters, studio images of beauty pageant winners), an image with a watermark from other photographer, etc. all licensed under Creative Commons licenses, to conclude this is flickrwashing.
