• Keep the ones that are more about the person than the trophy for sure (e.g. File:Pat Gillick holds up 2008 WS trophy CROP.jpg used on en:Pat Gillick, File:David Ortiz World Series Trophy.jpg used on en:David Ortiz, File:Billdewitt3.jpg used for en:William DeWitt Jr., etc. Those are the equivalent, per COM:DW, of a picture of a person that happens to also be wearing a Harry Potter T-Shirt or the like, and they are currently in use to describe the person, not the trophy, anyway and thus not a circumvention. No opinion on the others, sounds like the copyright status of the trophy needs to be known. ( http://www.tantalizingtrademarks.com/2017/05/commissioner-of-baseball-files-four.html , a blog, claims that a trademark was filed for only in 2017, but who knows about the copyright status, and how it's changed over time.) Right, for the files that you mentioned, I thought the trophy was prominent enough but I realize mileage may vary. As for the copyright status, any version of the trophy from 2000 should be under copyright since it was designed in 1999. The older one was a 1967 design, and I’m assuming it’s been less than 40 years since the designer’s death. Ytoyoda (talk) 12:46, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
