Files uploaded by en:User:Deibid

[edit]

en:User:Deibid has uploaded many bad files and many of the uploads have been deleted on en-wiki as a part of en:Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Deibid. So now I nominate all files on Commons originally uploaded by Deibid. The investigation on en-wiki showed that the files with metadata Panasonic DMC-FX3 and Canon DIGITAL IXUS 55 looks ok and most files from other cameras are copyvios. I think that all the files should be checked one by one and hereby invite others to help check. My suggestion is to keep the photos from the two cameras mentioned before (unless other evidence suggest they are copyvios) and to delete all others unless we have arguments to keep. List will be added below. MGA73 (talk) 16:42, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The reason I listed them was because there was so few of them and I wanted to make sure and to show that we looked at all the files. But yes they can be removed unless someone says "No wait!" very soon. --MGA73 (talk) 20:25, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I say wait! Yes, I'm Deibid. I know I have uploaded some dubious pics, but you are going TOO FAR here. All the not clear pics were removed LONG ago. The pics taken with FUJI camera are also mine, or from some of my family's members. Speaking of which... the explanation of the reasons for deletion are: 1-A personal attack, judge the individual pictures, not the user. 2-Quite RUDE. 3-Against the stablished rules. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.127.207.152 (talk • contribs) 06:52, 18 April 2012‎ (UTC)[reply]

[Corrected indent above]
The suggestion was to remove some files from the deletion request and thereby keep those files unless someone said "No wait.... Let's delete the files because...". But never mind that... Lets discuss the files.
The purpose of the DR is to make sure that all files are checked and can be discussed once and for all. The purpose is not to get all files deleted or to be rude etc.
The problem with your uploads is that you have uploaded some dubious files and that it is still possible to find files that have been uploaded elsewhere before it was uploaded on en-wiki and Commons or in other ways look dubious. For example File:Granbilbao.jpg where you just answer "Delete it".
If you had made a complete check of your uploads long ago and had eliminated all files that was not your own or added a correct author it would have been much better.
We need to know or trust that files on Commons are truely free and if we are not sure it is better to delete. --MGA73 (talk) 19:18, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot to mention: If you have a written permission to use files from forums etc. the best thing is to forward it to OTRS. If you do not have a written permission but know the author and/or still have contact with them you could ask them to send a permission to OTRS. --MGA73 (talk) 19:35, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:ArmsBilbao.jpg: Löschen. There File:Escudo de Bilbao (ovalado).svg and it isn't of bad quality. --Metrónomo (talk) 06:12, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

28 of the 43 still need decisions. Will this be closed soon? Wizardman 18:43, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Closing?

[edit]

Of the 43 files listed 15 has been deleted and User:Deibid has willingly supported deletion of some of the files. I think that makes it easier for us to trust that User:Deibid is telling the truth here.

Below is a resume of the files and comments above. See above for further comments if needed. --MGA73 (talk) 20:23, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Files that I think are OK
[edit]

Files I (MGA73) marked as ok and where no comments was made to make us think otherwise:

I therefore suggest to  Keep those. --MGA73 (talk) 20:23, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Claims own work
[edit]

Even if the files have different meta data than most of the other uploads User:Deibid claims it is own work. No evidence was found online to prove that it was not:

Except file 16. File:Biscay formation.gif all files are currently attributed to en:User:Deibid or User:Deibid. File 16 is attributed to en:User:Sugaar and that user was the original uploader. I suggest that User:Deibid has a second look and help clear out "the mess". Except for that we could AGF and keep these files. I'll let the closing admin decide. --MGA73 (talk) 20:23, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Claims to have permission
[edit]

The files often have different (or no) meta data and User:Deibid explained that the files are from tiempo.com where User:Deibid is registered as a user and that User:Deibid has a permission from the copyright holder.

Generally a permission send to OTRS was expected. However the files are old uploads and OTRS did not excist back then or was not widely used. We do not know what the permission said but as it is now en:User:Deibid is listed as the author. Personally I would prefer that the true author was listed and attributed. But if the photographer gave full permission (released the file as PD or gave the rights to en:User:Deibid then I do not think that it is a MUST that original photographer is mentioned. But I'll let closing admin decide. --MGA73 (talk) 20:23, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Files with some problems
[edit]

These three files still have some problems:

I do not fully understand who the author to 27. File:Ibaizabal.JPG is but if User:Txo claims to be the photographer and User:Deibid agrees it should be ok.

As for 34. File:Prehistoric biscay.gif User:Deibid asks "is it even mine?". I added original upload info to the file and it was uploaded by User:Deibid. If User:Deibid does not claim ownership I think it is perhaps a good idea to delete it.

User:Deibid made no comments about 39. File:Val d'Aran.jpg . If User:Deibid does not claim ownership I think it is perhaps a good idea to delete it. --MGA73 (talk) 20:23, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
