Should this page exist?
[edit]@Aymatth2: I respect that this was created in good faith, but... this page seems entirely hypothetical. There aren't any works published here because nobody lives here. If a publishing house does inexplicably set up shop in Bir Tawil and attempt to start exerting copyright over their works, we can deal with that when we come to it. At least there's actual citable doctrine about, say, Antarctica pictures. This seems closer to claimed copyright rules on Mars - it's too soon to say. (Came up because I saw someone on the Wikipedia Facebook page linking this page as if it was an authority on the copyright situation, and I don't think it really is.) - @SnowFire: The article was created to prevent redlinks in pages like Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Consolidated list Northern Africa or Commons:Freedom of panorama/Africa, which are generated using lists rendered by module:countries, as are the banners on pages like Category:Benin. There is one file from there, File:103v - Copie.jpg, maybe there will be a few more. It seems harmless enough. Aymatth2 (talk) 17:25, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- Judging by that user's contributions and the flag in that picture, they're attempting to claim a micronation there, so... unique case. (See File:BirlandState.jpg .) If it's a page that "has" to exist to avoid redlinks, I suppose fair enough, but I'm going to edit the article to be a bit more blunt that this is a big question mark - hopefully that's okay?
