	Description: 187th Attack Battalion Prefix: CT Detachment: Clone Trooper Detachment Context: Expanded Universe The 187th Attack Battalion serve in the Grand Army of the Republic under Jedi Master and General Mace Windu, and are distinguished by the purple markings on their armor. The 187th was deployed in the Battle of Dantooine and Battle of Coruscant.

For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met. In the page below, items listed in blue are recommended features that will improve the quality of the costume. Items listed in red are intended to further enhance the finished costume.

This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type. This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction; rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. Details on construction may be found on the respective costume detachment web forum. GMLs uncertain about an aspect of submitted costume shall post questions in the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the Legion forum. Measurements given in this document are intended to be approximate and generalized; not criteria for approval. Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size. Text descriptions are only one part of the guideline. GMLs and costumers must consider both text and pictures (CRL and Reference) when reviewing the costume.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below.

	Helmet Realistic style ROTS Phase II helmet. Fan-made helmet. Some "name brand" helmets may be unacceptable. Armor is painted matte or satin white with purple and gunmetal grey detail. Mowhawk on top of dome is painted purple. (12) evenly spaced, vertical gunmetal grey stripes on the center front forehead section of the dome, above the black band. Helmet has a black brow band, just above the eye lens, that extends around to the back of helmet. Black eye lens. The charcoal grey frown has 6 removed teeth spaces. Black colored wire or plastic plastic mesh is utilized inside the helmet to cover the open pieces of the frown. Purple chin area, below grey frown, triangulates toward the vocoder opening edge. Black aerators with metal grills are mounted inside the two indented front jaw tubes at base of helmet. (6) Gunmetal grey, evenly spaced, horizontal stripes on the front section of each aerator tube at base of helmet. Flat indented cheek areas are painted gunmetal grey with side walls remaining white. Ear caps are dark grey with black edging and detail. The side vent tubes have (8) evenly spaced dark blue vertical hash marks. Grey indented helmet band around back of dome. Indented rear sections of helmet are painted gunmetal grey with side walls remaining white. Black Indented vertical rectangle area on back with ribbed detail. Armor is weathered with shades of grey and has scuff marks.
	OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Helmet has an enclosed complete neck ring that seals the helmet to the neck.

	Neck Seal Neck seal is black in color with vertical ribbing or smooth in appearance. No logos or labels are visible. If the seal is not incorporated as part of the undersuit, a balaclava or other similar covering is acceptable.

	Under Suit Black non-textured material, either one-piece or two-piece construction with no visible zippers or logos.

	Shoulder Armor Realistic style shoulder armor. Shoulders are tear drop in shape with all rounded edges. Armor is painted purple. Armor is weathered with shades of grey and has scuff marks.

Upper Arm Armor Realistic style Upper Arm Armor. Armor is painted matte or satin white. Two 5/8 inch Gunmetal grey stropes , spaced approximately 1/2 inch apart, encircle the lower part of the upper arm. Armor has a front hard line outside edge and inside rounded edge, with indented area on back. Armor is seamless. No visible traces of how the armor was assembled are shown. Armor is weathered with shades of grey and has scuff marks.

Elbow Armor Armor is painted matte or satin white. There are two elbows. Both elbows have strapping. The straps have a raised detail line at the top and bottom of the strap. On the outside of each elbow, near the connection point of the elbow strap, there are detail slots that look like equal symbols. Elbows are mirror images of each other with a notched area on the outside of the elbow above the detail marks. Armor is weathered with shades of grey and has scuff marks.

	Forearm Armor Armor is painted matte or satin white. Forearms are mirror images of each other. Right forearm has a compad with 8 small buttons,1 Large main button, and 1 slightly smaller rectangular button. Forearm tops have a flattened triangular area with a ridge that comes to a point at the top of the forearm. Armor is seamless. No visible traces of how the armor was assembled are shown. Armor is weathered with shades of grey and has scuff marks.
	OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Compad has detail antenna on its left.
	OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Instead of a hard edge, the top of the forearm has a bone ridge.

	Gloves Black over the wrist gloves made of leather, nylon, or other low pile fabrics. Gloves cover any exposed skin. Gloves do not show any labels or logos when the armor is worn.

	Hand Plates Realistic style hand plates. Armor is painted matte or satin white. Hand plates have a top curving ridge that come to a point over the index or middle finger just past the main knuckle of the hand. Armor is weathered with shades of grey.

Chest Armor Realistic style Chest Armor. Armor is painted matte or satin white. Top elevated chest area is painted purple. The purple stops at all the return edges. Two detail slots on lower outside edge of right raised chest area. Chest and back armor match together at the sides with no open gap. A seam line is present. Shoulder straps are slotted into the detail ridges of the top connection points. Shoulder straps are white. Armor is weathered with shades of grey and has scuff marks.

Command Harness The Harness rests on the right shoulder and consists of (3) black straps which wrap around the chest to the back armor. One strap travels down the back of the shoulder. Two straps wrap around the body at about mid-chest. On back, all three straps connect to one silver buckle located near bottom right corner of Back detail box. Top of right shoulder strap is covered with a ridged armor plate. Armor plate is silver in color. Armor plate has (2) circular screw details on both the front and back side. Rear shoulder strap attaches to shoulder armor plate with a silver buckle. Attached to the top of the harness, and placed over the right shoulder, is a purple colored spaulder. Spaulder matches shape of the Shoulder Armor with the wider end facing away from shoulder strap. Over the right side of the chest is a larger, angular looking armor plate. Armor plate is silver in color with black edging. Black straps on sides of plate connect with silver buckles. Upper shoulder strap attaches behind this plate.

	Back Armor Realistic style back armor. Armor is painted matte or satin white. Back has a detail plate with four circles on top, two elongated areas on left, and vents on lower right. Back and chest armor match together at the sides with no gap. A seam line is present. Shoulder straps are slotted into the detail ridges of the top connection points. Shoulder straps are white. Armor is weathered with shades of grey and has scuff marks.
	OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Highly detailed resin Back box plate cover with circuitry insets.

Radio Pack Realistic style ROTS back box, top mounted cover type Radio, with antennae. Radio is painted matte or satin black. Radio has protruding detail top with antenna on left. Antenna is approximately 5/16" diameter by 12" in length. Radio base is angled so that it sits flat and level on top of back box. Radio mounts to the top of the back with two surface connecting plugs which insert into circles on back detail box. Plug brackets need not function to carry the weight. Magnets are recommended. Radio is weathered with various scuff marks.

	Abdomen Armor Realistic style abdomen Armor Armor is painted matte or satin white. Eight 1/4" diameter holes, with four holes inside each indented channel of the abdomen. Abdomen armor wraps around the wearers body and is sealed at sides or back. Abdomen is completely contained under the chest and back armor. Abdomen is seamless at the sides and closed in the back. Armor aligns with codpiece with the seam line hidden by the belt. Armor is weathered with shades of grey.
	OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Seam line along sides or back has no gap.

	Cod and Posterior Armor Realistic style Codpiece and posterior armor. Armor is painted matte or satin white. Cod and Posterior armor connect at the hips. Armor is weathered with shades of grey.
	OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Hips have correct detail connector snap and edge feature at the codpiece and posterior side connection.

	Belt Armor is painted purple. Belt front, between front boxes, has three vertical rectangle indents which are spaced apart by two protruding rectangle areas. The rest of the belt is flat surfaced with raised edging on top and bottom that run along the rest of the belt. Eight Belt Boxes are attached to Belt, with four on each side. The two largest Boxes are in front with angled top surface that is higher toward the center. The smallest boxes are located behind the front boxes, about 1/8 inch apart and have an angled end on top. The medium sized matching boxes, with flat top cover, are about 1/8 inch from smallest boxes. Left rear box is spaced closer to detonator and has two square buttons in the top left corner, and two dashed indented detail marks on bottom right. Right rear box is spaced closer to detonator and has a bar with two small cylinders centered, and two dashed indented detail marks on bottom left. A detonator is centered and attached to back of Belt. Detonator is painted matte or satin white. Detonator tube is about 2 1/4 inch diameter with wider detailed end caps. Seven horizontally aligned square buttons are on left side of tube, facing backwards. Weathering of purple areas include various scuff marks. Armor is weathered with shades of grey and has scuff marks.
	OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Boxes are notched on back and fit flush to belt.
	OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Back of belt, between rear boxes, has horizontal ribbing. Detonator has 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide rectangle base, connecting detonator to Belt.

	Thigh Armor Realistic style thigh armor. Armor is painted matte or satin white. Gunmetal grey stripes on each outside facing surface of thigh. (1) vertical stripe, about 1/2 inch wide, travels the length of each thigh and is oriented just forward of center. (2) horizontal Gunmetal grey stripes extend from the vertical stripe. Horizontal stripes are about 1 1/8 inch wide and spaced one inch apart. Horizontal stripes travel from vertical stripe and end at ridge on front of thigh. Top edge of lower horizontal stripe is located at the half way mark of front thigh ridge. Front of thigh armor has a flat triangular area near the knee. From the top of the triangle a ridge line travels up the front of the thigh to the top edge. Rear of the thigh has an indented area. Armor is seamless. No visible traces of how the armor was assembled are shown. Weathering of grey areas include various scuff marks. Armor is weathered with shades of grey.
	OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Outside lower edge of the armor comes to a point and inner lower end is rounded.

	Knee Armor Realistic style knee armor. Armor is painted matte or satin white. Knees wrap around the front of the leg. Knees have a protruding flat area in front oriented towards the top of Knee. surface of raised area is painted purple. Knees are strapped to the leg via a white strap with a raised center area that wraps around the leg and connects on both sides of the Knee. Armor is weathered with shades of grey and has scuff marks
	OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Flat Strap has raised 5/8 Inch wide grey center strap.

	Lower Leg Armor Realistic style lower leg armor. Armor is painted purple. Lower Legs are mirror images of each other. The front of the armor has a triangular detail at the top of the leg and a hard ridge line down the front of the shin to the ankle. Back of lower leg armor features arched indentation, just under the calf, that follows down to the ankle. Bottom of this indentation features a smaller arch detail at the heel. Outside of the calf is closed. Calf can have an access area on the inside of the leg. Calves are seamless and have a trap door access through the indent in the rear of the lower leg. Weathering of purple areas include various scuff marks. Armor is weathered with shades of grey and has scuff marks.

Boots Purple, ankle high or tall enough to cover the ankle and eliminate any black undersuit visible at the ankle. Boots are lace-less. The boots have armor detail to include a natural seam at the toe and a strap that goes over the top of the foot with two protruding disks at each side of the strap. There are no markings or labels from the shoe makers. Boot soles are flat. Boot soles are colored primer grey.

Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.

	DC-15S Blaster Manufactured by BlasTech Industries, the DC-15S is smaller in scale than the DC-15A blaster rifle. Although it has a shorter range than that of the “A” model, it is easier to handle with a higher rate of fire and features a folding stock for braced firing. Realistic Clone Style DC-15S Blaster. Blaster may be scratch built out of plastic, wood, metal or cast in resin. Blaster has realistic Episode II or Episode III details: Wire frame sight. Folding stock. Twelve radiator fins evenly spaced along the length of barrel. Igniter detail knobs. Charge magazine clip on right side. Total length is approximately 26 inches (66 cm). Because of the scale, the Hasbro version is incorrect.
	OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Charge magazine detail on clip is metal to gun metal grey in color. Detail bolts and screws are metal to gun metal grey in color. Igniter knobs have some copper coloring. Blaster is weathered.
	OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Functioning Blue LED is installed in barrel.

	DC-15A Blaster Rifle Manufactured by BlasTech Industries, the DC-15A is a Tibanna gas cartridge powered weapon. Hyper-ionized blue plasma bolts are more than capable of penetrating armored units. Exceptionally effective against both droids and contemporary targets. Realistic Clone Style DC-15A Blaster Rifle. Blaster rifle is scratch built out of plastic, wood, metal or cast in resin. Blaster has realistic Episode II or Episode III details: Flip up sight in down position. Ten radiator fins are evenly spaced along the length of the barrel. Power setting adjuster detail lever. Sniper Scope attached under rifle in storage position. Charge magazine clip on left side. Igniter detail knobs. Total length is approximately 55 inches (139.7 cm). Because of the scale, the Hasbro version is not allowed.
	OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Charge magazine detail on clip is metal to gun metal grey in color. Detail bolts and screws are metal to gun metal grey in color. Igniter has some copper coloring. Power setting adjuster detail lever is metal or gun metal grey. Sniper scope is metal or gun metal grey. Blaster is weathered.
	OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Functioning Blue LED is installed in barrel.
