Context: Star Wars: The Mandalorian, aka “Din Djarin”
A lone Mandalorian who carries out bounties efficiently and without hesitation. Considered one of the best in the Bounty Hunter’s Guild by Greef Karga up until the one bounty that would change his reputation. Armed with his signature Amban Sniper Rifle and blaster, if Din has your bounty puck it is only a matter of when he finds you…


For 501st membership, only the requirements in black need to be met.

The Bounty Hunters’ Guild defines an additional optional level of costuming excellence. In the page below, requirements for Level 2, referred to as “Infamous”, are listed in blue. These optional requirements are meant for those who strive to meet the highest level of screen accuracy. Please visit the BHG web site for a full description of these standards.


This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.


  • This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction; rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. Details on construction may be found on the respective costume detachment web forum.
  • GMLs uncertain about an aspect of submitted costume shall post questions in the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the Legion forum.
  • Measurements given in this document are intended to be approximate and generalized; not criteria for approval.
  • Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size.
  • Text descriptions are only one part of the guideline. GMLs and costumers must consider both text and pictures (CRL and Reference) when reviewing the costume.

  • All costume elements are painted and weathered to match the specific visual references for this version.
  • All components should closely match the Din Djarin Season 1: Pre-Beskar Color Palette.
  • Color palette is intended for reference in building, and will only be used in exacting measurement by Detachment for Infamous Level approval. A Basic level approval is only required to be similar, not exact.
  • All Armor is constructed from a durable material such as Metal, Fiberglass, Resin, Sintra, HIPS, PVC, PLA, Vac-formed ABS, or similar, EVA foam & Similar materials are not appropriate.
  • Unless stated otherwise armor has a return edge of at least 1/8” (2–3mm), giving the appearance of thickness and depth.
  • Armor is scaled proportionately to the wearer.
  • Please Note: All damage must be 100% screen accurate if individual wishes to obtain Infamous (Level 2) approval from Detachment.





Din1 Helmet.png Helmet
  • Helmet is a painted with a dark chrome finish.
  • Helmet is weathered with brown/bronze shades with more visible weathering around the recesses and edges surrounding details.
  • The mandibles taper inwards slightly so that visor narrows towards the bottom.
  • Bottom of the mandibles are angled inwards.
  • Visor ends in the middle of the angled section at bottom of mandibles.
  • Visor is dark grey.
  • Front brow has a groove ⅓” (8-9mm) from the top edge, extending from the left and right ears.
  • Helmet has a raised mohawk detail that extends from the front brow to the top of the vent section at the rear.
    • Mohawk features a rectangular groove offset from the edge.
    • Front corners of the mohawk feature angled corners.
    • Mohawk overlaps the front brow.
  • Ears & Ear Caps are symmetrical.
    • Inverted “U” section and recess below ear caps are painted matte charcoal/black.
  • Rear vent is rectangular in shape and features 6 rows of inset slats.
    • Each Slat face is slightly curved features a rectangular section cut out from the bottom edge.
    • Each slat overlaps the one below it.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Ears do not show any visible seams where they meet the helmet surface.
  • Outermost faces of ear & ear caps feature a brighter finish than the surrounding surfaces.
  • Helmet is painted in a way that closely resembles the Alumaluster paint & finish seen on screen.
  • Helmet cheeks feature a matte finish.
  • Front brow groove is painted black.
  • Inverted "U" section appear hollow.
  • Vent section appears to be a separate piece.




Din1 ChestArmor.png Chest Armor
  • Chest armor is a one or two-part construction.
  • Upper chest armor consists of two symmetrical breastplates connected by a central recessed strip.
    • Recessed strip features a debossed diamond detail.
  • An abdominal section sits below the chest armor.
  • Armor has sizable return edge all around the part, giving the appearance of thickness and depth.
  • Armor is painted with a medium brown/red base. See Color Palette.
  • Armor is weathered with grey & brown shades, damage is present revealing a metallic silver base and a dark grey layer surrounding it.
  • Diamond features 6 edges.
    • Painted silver weathered with brown/bronze shades
    • Features a rectangular recess running vertically.
  • Chest armor attaches securely to the flak vest without any visible attachment method.
  • Upper edge of the chest armor sits slightly above the top of the flak vest.
  • The bottom edge of the sits just above the bottom edge of the flak vest.
  • The bottom edge of the armor is approximately in line with the wearer's elbow.
  • A blaster dent is only present in the upper right breastplate if Option 2 of the Right Shoulder armor is worn.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Chest armor is a two-part construction.
  • a lip on the top of the abdominal plate sits under the chest armor with no vertical separation from the upper chest.
  • Armor return edges are more significant on the upper chest plate, less on the abdominal plate.
  • The Recessed strip features a fine centered groove running the length of the recessed strip above and below the diamond.





Din1 BackArmor.png Back Armor
  • Armor covers the mid and upper back areas.
  • Armor is painted in the same color scheme as the chest armor.
  • Armor curves to fit the wearer’s back and ends slightly above the bottom seam of the Flak Vest.
  • Bottom edge features a trapezoidal cutout
  • Armor has no visible attachment methods and is not visible from the front or the sides while the cape is worn.





Din1 RtShoulder.png Right Shoulder Armor (Option 1)
  • This item is worn only with the chest armor featuring no “Blaster Dent”.
  • The upper third of the shoulder armor is painted blue and the lower 2 third painted dark tan. See Color Palette.
  • The armor surfaces are weathered with grey & brown shades, damage is present revealing a metallic silver base and a dark grey layer surrounding it.
  • Armor is symmetrical with a short vertical raised ridge from top to bottom, approximately 1.5” (37-38mm) wide.
  • A single strap is used to connect the armor to the flak vest shoulder strap.
  • Armor is raised up slightly from the shoulder, with padding on the inside.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Attached with 2” (50mm) black fabric/elastic between the top center of the armor and the Flak Vest straps





Din1 BeskarShoulder.png Right Shoulder Armor (Option 2)
  • This item is worn only with the chest armor featuring the “Blaster Dent”.
  • Shoulder is painted with the same dark chrome as the helmet.
  • Armor features a rectangular shaped raised edge.
  • There is little to no weathering and no visible damage on the shoulder.
  • Armor is symmetrical with a tall vertical raised ridge from top to bottom, approximately 1” (24-25mm) wide.
  • A single strap is used to connect the armor to the flak vest shoulder strap.
  • Armor is raised up slightly from the shoulder, with padding on the inside.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Shoulder armor is painted in a way that closely resembles the Alumaluster finish seen on screen.
  • Attached with 2” (50mm) black fabric/elastic between the top center of the armor and the Flak Vest straps.
  • A groove follows all outer edges, approximately 1/8” (3-4mm) in width.
  • A small dome detail is present on the front-top and back of the raised ridge.





Din1 LftShoulder.png Left Shoulder Armor
  • Armor is painted in the same color scheme as the chest armor.
  • Armor is symmetrical with a raised rounded edge around its perimeter.
  • A single strap is used to connect the armor to the flak vest shoulder strap.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Armor is raised up slightly from the shoulder, away from the flight suit with thick padding on the inside.
  • Armor is painted with 4 layers using the same colors present on the chest armor and an additional tan/beige layer. See Color Palette.
  • Attached with 2” (50mm) black fabric/elastic between the top center of the armor and the flak vest straps.





Din1 LftGauntlet.png Left Gauntlet
  • Gauntlet is the pre-Blurrg attack version.
  • Armor painted in the same color scheme as the Chest Armor.
  • The top of the gauntlet features three steps with the tallest at the beginning at the wearer's elbow.
  • Four trapezoidal shapes feature on the side of the steps, three on the inner right edge and one on the outer left edge.
  • A tapered rectangular greeble appears on the outer side of the gauntlet.
  • The inner right face features a rectangular grooved shape above the closure.
  • Keypad features 4 horizontal rows of 5 circular buttons and is silver with light gold/bronze weathering.
  • A silver and black painted detail is present just above the keypad.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Gauntlet is a clamshell-style without any visible closure methods.
  • There is a black/charcoal embossed detail on the face of the tapered rectangular greeble.
  • The center 3 buttons of each row of the keypad are slightly larger than the outside buttons.





Din1 RtGauntlet.png Right Gauntlet
  • Gauntlet is the pre-Blurrg attack version.
  • Armor is painted the same color scheme as the Chest Armor.
  • The top of the gauntlet features three steps with the tallest at the beginning at the wearer's elbow.
  • Three trapezoidal shapes feature on the side of the steps, one on the inner left edge and two on the outer right edge.
  • 4 silver darts extend slightly from a recessed section at the front edge of the tallest step.
  • The outer-right side of the gauntlet features a raised rectangular detail with two narrow raised strips either side, a flamethrower sits on top of the rectangular detail.
    • The flamethrower terminates into the rectangular detail and consists of a stepped cylindrical shape with the narrowest part towards the wearer's wrist.
  • The inner left face features a rectangular grooved shape above the closure.
  • A recessed red-tinted electronic display is covered with a rectangular frame and three bright red Mandalorian characters are visible on the front edge near the wearer's wrist.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Gauntlet is a clamshell style without any visible closure methods.
  • Display on the right gauntlet is functional and cycles sets of Mandalorian characters.
  • The frame surrounding the display appears to be a separate part attached the gauntlet
  • Darts and flamethrower painted silver with chipped weathering revealing a black base color.
  • The forward section of the flamethrower is supported by a loop of heavy canvas/elastic fabric that is painted silver.





Din1 HandPlates.png Hand Plates
  • Hand Plates are off-white with a blue triangle in the center. See Color Palette.
  • Hand plates are symmetrical with eight sides with angled corners and 2 bent faces.
  • There are 6 discernible sections with a small ridge that surrounds the edge of each plate.
  • Plates secure to the gloves without any visible means of attachment.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Hand Plate painted as described above but also feature chipped weathering revealing a black base color.
  • The blue triangle & rear trapezoid shape are slightly raised.





Din1 Kidney.png Kidney Armor
  • Kidney Armor covers the back of the body at the waist and is trapezoidal in shape.
  • Armor is painted the same color scheme as the chest armor.
  • Armor has five visible sides and ends at the middle of wearer’s buttocks.
  • Top edge of armor features a lip that sits under the Belt without any visible attachment method.





Din1 HipArmor.png Tasset Armor
  • Armor is dark blue. See Color Palette.
  • Armor is weathered with light tan shades with heavier coverage in the edges of the grooves.
  • Armor plates are identical and worn on the right and left hip.
  • Armor has two recessed grooves, near the outer vertical edges running from top to bottom
  • Top edge of armor features a lip that sits under the Belt without any visible attachment method.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Armor is made from a flexible material





D1 RThighArmor.png Right Thigh Armor
  • Armor is pre-Mudhorn encounter.
  • Armor features a raised rectangular edge.
  • Armor features a raised rectangular ridge in the center that merges into the top & bottom edge.
  • Armor is painted in the same color scheme as the chest armor.
  • Armor is attached to the Flight Suit without any visible attachment method.

  • Armor is pre-Mudhorn encounter.
  • Armor features a raised rounded edge.
  • Armor features a recessed groove on the right side that ends on the top & bottom edge.
  • Armor is painted light tan color. See Color Palette.
  • Armor is weathered with grey & brown shades, damage is present revealing a metallic silver base and a dark grey layer surrounding it.
  • Armor is attached to the Flight Suit without any visible attachment method.





Din1 KneeArmor.png Left Knee Armor
  • Armor features a noticeably thick return edge.
  • Armor is painted a dark blue that is lighter in shade than the hip armor. See Color Palette.
  • Armor is weathered with grey & brown shades, damage is present revealing a metallic silver base and a dark grey layer surrounding it.
  • Armor flares outward at the back of the knee on each side.
  • 2 silver darts are attached on the outside of the knee and feature a hollow center, a mid taper and three grooves on the wider section.
  • Armor secured by a 1” (25mm) dark brown or black strap, the strap may be fabric, leather or leather-like.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • A loop/buckle is present on the outer left edge of the rear strap.
  • Knee darts are metal & weathered and feature a chamfer on the back edge.
  • A rectangular trapezoidal detail is present with a visible groove inside the perimeter of the outer face located next to the knee darts on the outside-left of the knee armor.





Din1 RtShinArmor.png Right Leg Greave
  • Greave closes at the back.
  • A “T” plate is affixed to the top of the armor, covering the knee.
  • Bottom diamond of the “T” is large and not recessed.
  • Wings of the “T” plate extend past the diamonds on the armor to the top of the Shin ammo belt.
  • Middle vertical plate features a single groove running vertically over the length.
  • Diamonds at the top of the vertical ridge are symmetrical to each other. Edges of the diamonds are equal length.
  • “T” plate is the same color and weathering as the Chest Armor.
  • Greave is pained a darker brown color. See Color Palette.
  • A 2" (50mm) tall leather or leather-like, closing in the back with no raw edges visible is placed at the bottom of the greave
  • An ammo belt is present on the upper portion of the Armor, directly below the T.
    • The belt is made of leather or leather-like material, wrapping completely around the leg featuring weathered white stitching and holds 6 silver Ammo Canisters, each with two ridges at the top and bottom.
    • The belt is made of 2 different shades. The larger strap is dark brown, the center strap and ammo loops are red-brown.
    • Closes via an overlap on the inside leg without any visible attachment method.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • All strapping is made of leather.
  • The ammo belt is made of 3 different shades consistent Dark brown base, Chestnut brown center strip and Red-Brown for the ammo loops.
    • The ammo loops strap weaves into the belt to form the piece, the remainder of the strap is exposed at the rear wrapping around the back of the greave in the center of the ammo belt.
    • Parallel stitching is visible in between the ammo canisters and the edges of the main belt, the canister loops have tooled lines on the edges.
    • The top sides of the parallel stitching is joined.
  • A 2" (50mm) tall distressed leather or leather-like strap, closing in the back with no raw edges visible is placed at the bottom of the greave with 2 rectangular indentations showing on the closure at the rear.
  • Ammo canisters are made of metal and hollow at the bottom and feature rounded edges.





Din1 LftShinArmor.png Left Leg Greave
  • Left Greave consists of 4 components made of leather or leather-like material.
  • A strap/belt, similar in size to the right leg ammo belt, constructed from a wide dark red-brown strap with no raw edges and a narrower lighter brown strip stitched in the center.
  • Features a small square pouch, approximately 1" (25mm) in depth and approximately the same height of the wider strap, is positioned on the outside-left of the lower leg
  • Pouch is the same shade as the narrower strip and has a flap closure with a metal Sam Browne stud to secure the strap
  • Strap/Belt covers the top of the mid-portion of the Greave, which is dark brown
  • Strap/belt sits at the top of the greave
  • The mid-portion is dark brown and has a wrinkled/bunched appearance.
  • The Strap and mid portion close on the rear
  • The boot gaiter is constructed from a top band and lower pleats and closes on the rear
  • The top band is a lighter red-brown with a raised rectangular shape with a curved top
  • The lower part of the gaiter is darker red-brown and features a minimum of four bands.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • The Left Leg Greave and all of its components including the pouch are made of leather with a weathered finish.
  • The Strap and mid portion close on the rear-left of the calf with the edge facing to the left of the wearer.
  • The lower part of the gaiter is constructed using pleating with a minimum of 5 pleats.
  • The boot gaiter is constructed from a top band and lower pleats and closes with the edge facing to the right of the wearer.
  • The small square pouch features a layered flap that encases the closure strap.
  • The lower pleats overlap at the closure and feature rounded corners.





Din1 Cape.png Cape
  • Cape is made of wool or wool like material and is dark gray. See Color Palette.
  • Cape covers the shoulders and is wide enough to bunch up across the back and shoulders.
  • Four pleated sections on the left, cross in front of the neck, slightly covered by Chest Armor and attach to the opposite side.
    • If the cape is attached to the Flight Suit to aid in maintaining location, any attachment methods are not visible.
  • The bottom edge is heavily distressed.
  • Cape extends to between the mid-shin and ankle.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Cape is made of boiled wool.
  • Cape has a slit opening so the rifle strap can secure the rifle on the outside of the cape.





Din1 FlakVest.png Flak Vest
  • Flak vest is a light tan and made of cotton/cotton-blend, plain-weave material similar to duck cloth/canvas. See Color Palette.
  • Edges of the vest have a single visible stitch line.
  • Shoulder straps are made of leather or leather-like material that connects the front and the back.
  • Flak vest closes in the back any closure method is not visible when the backplate is worn.
  • Flak vest has a single quilt that runs horizontally around the entire vest, lining up approximately with where the Ab Plate attaches to the Breast Plates.
  • The vest is lightly weathered.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Vest bottom has double topstitch.
  • Flak Vest ends at the bottom of the Ab Plate.
  • A horizontal double topstitched seam is present same level the abdominal plate meets the breastplate.
  • Armholes feature two pleats on each front side.





Din1 FlightSuit.png Flight Suit
  • Flight Suit is a grey with undertones of blue and made of cotton/cotton-blend, plain-weave material, similar to duck cloth/canvas. See Color Palette.
  • Topstitching is white.
  • Can be one or two-piece in construction, a two-piece construction must give the appearance of being one piece when worn.
  • Flight Suit shows no closure when worn.
  • The Flight Suit has double sleeves.
  • Short sleeves have an extra strip of fabric added at the bottom and two vertical strips front and back
  • Short sleeves feature a concentric rectangular topstitched pattern in the middle.
  • Long sleeves feature 5 horizontal topstitched lines, evenly spaced that span the area between short sleeve and the gauntlet.
  • Long sleeves feature cross-hatch topstitched pattern on the rear of the arm.
  • From the waist, legs feature a vertical double topstitch detail on both the front and back.
  • The inner thighs feature reinforcement patches.
  • Flight Suit is lightly weathered, and no visible pockets, zippers or logos when all costume components are attached.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • From the waist, legs feature a double topstitched seam on both the front and back.
  • The inner thigh reinforcement patches are diamond-shaped and feature double topstitching.
  • The knees feature trapezoidal reinforcement patches with a wider double topstitch detail and terminate with the vertical front leg seams.





Din1 NeckSeal.png Neck Seal
  • Made of the same material as the Flight Suit and weathered identically.
  • May be integrated into the flight suit.
  • Neck Seal closes in the back, right over left via velcro.
    • No part of the costumer’s chin, ears, or neck are visible.
  • Neck seal contains four top stitches, equally spaced
    • The Two lower topstitches end perpendicular with the rear closer and follow around the front of the throat.
    • The Two upper topstitches form a triangular shape on each side of the wearer's neck


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Neck seal is two-part with made from the same material as the flight suit the second part of the neck seal feature and an additional set of stitched lines
  • Neck seal features a cover strip on the rear velcro closure.





Din1 Cummerbund.png Cummerbund
  • The Cummerbund is an off-brown. See Color Palette.
  • May be integrated into the flight suit.
  • Cummerbund is comprised of three sections made of cotton/cotton-blend, plain-weave material.
    • The front section covers the front of the abdomen, extending into a trapezoid-shaped cod-flap that is edged with a topstitch.
    • On each side of the front section are five evenly spaced, horizontal top stitches which end at the rear of the cummerbund.
    • No closure method is visible when wearing the Back Armor and Flak Vest.
  • Cummerbund is tall enough to span from under the Flak Vest to the Belt ensuring the Flight Suit is not visible between them.
  • The bottom of the Cummerbund on the sides, line up with the bottom of the Ammo Belt such that the bottom edge is not seen.
  • The cod-flap extends past the belt, just short of the bottom of the zipper fly on the Flight Suit.
  • The bottom corners of the trapezoid are subtly rounded.
  • Cummerbund is slightly weathered.

  • The vertical detail lines on the front are a double topstitched seams.

  • Bandolier, Belt, pouches, straps & holster are made of the same dark brown leather or leather-like material.

  • The Belt, Bandolier & Holster are made from supple leather with a visible grain structure.
  • Hardware:

  • Bandolier:
    • The Back of the bandolier terminates with an Elastic webbed section featuring 3-4 rectangular cover strips made of the same leather as the bandolier & belt.
    • Rear top of the bandolier features a raised section with three rectangular cut-outs.
  • Holster:
    • The holster body features a formed/molded shape similar to that of the pistol.





Din1 Gloves.png Gloves
  • Gloves are leather/leather-like material consisting of two sections.
  • Black section of the gloves are fingerless and extend past the wrist with the edge long enough that it does not expose the flight suit.
  • Heavily weathered yellow-orange fingers extend out beyond fingerless black section. See Color Palette.
  • Logos and any other non-canon details are not visible


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Gloves constructed from Elite Patrol Tan Gloves and Enforcer Gauntlet Black Gloves (one size larger than the tan glove) or a close matching replica.
  • Glove Cuff features an extension that ends under the gauntlet at the wrist with a visible zig-zag stitch.
  • Fingers are a separate layer.





Din1 Boots.png Boots
  • Chelsea style boots with black rugged soles and a slight heel.
  • Light brown leather or leather-like material with a stitched details and sections running over the entire boot.
  • Inner side of the boot at the ankle has a weathered light grey patch that extends upward to the top of the boot.
  • Top of each boot is hidden under the greaves.
  • Elastic, Velcro or any other closure methods are invisible.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Base of the boots are made from Sketchers Brand - Blaine Orsen Boots or ones closely matching.
  • All detail sections covering the base boot are leather.





Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.


Din1 VibroBlade.png Vibro-Boot Knife
  • Knife is located inside the right side of the right leg greave with only the grip visible.
  • The handle painted is blue and heavily weathered, exposing the appearance of metal underneath. See Color Palette.
  • Knife grip only is acceptable if permanently attached to the inside of the right leg greave.
  • Knife is approximately 9” (230mm) long including the blade.

Din1 AmbanRifle.png Amban Phase Pulse Rifle
  • Rifle is proportionate to the height of the costumer.
  • Rifle body is painted gunmetal grey with gold and silver accents.
  • Stock of the rifle has the appearance of wood or is made of wood.
  • Prongs of the rifle are silver and feature a heat discoloration effect.
  • Rifle features heat discoloration effect.
  • Rifle is weathered.
  • Scope may be permanently attached or removable.
  • Rifle is connected with a strap made from the same material as the Bandolier with stitched edges and features a Swivel clip, Black tri-glide and Rifle Clip

Din1 Pistol.png Blastech IB-94 Blaster
  • Blaster design is based on on a Bergmann 1894 pistol.
  • Features a conical muzzle with a black cylinder section at the front that includes the iron sight a rear tapered section painted silver that connects to the barrel.
  • Sidearm is black with brass effect details
  • Grips have the appearance of wood or are made of wood.
  • Sidearm is weathered.
