Description: First Order Navigator
Prefix: DZ
Detachment: Underworld Detachment
Context: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The Navigators were a retinue of mute aliens, led by the Supreme Leader Snoke, who originated from the Unknown Regions.



This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.


  • This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction; rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. Details on construction may be found on the respective costume detachment web forum.
  • GMLs uncertain about an aspect of submitted costume shall post questions in the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the Legion forum.
  • Measurements given in this document are intended to be approximate and generalized; not criteria for approval.
  • Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size.
  • Text descriptions are only one part of the guideline. GMLs and costumers must consider both text and pictures (CRL and Reference) when reviewing the costume.


Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below.


SnokeAttend head.jpg Head and Cowl
  • The face is made from a rigid material and is gunmetal grey.
  • An oval shaped nose with horizontal lines is located in the center bottom of the face, and the nose continues into the cowl fabric.
  • A purple cowl adorns the face and neck. The material creates a billowing fountain effect. It wraps around the chin line and disapears behind the head.
  • Two circular violet eyes are located on the head and are encased by cones that are approximately an inch long and angle slightly outwards.
  • The cheeks have a slight arch and have two shiny aluminum colored buttons located at the bottom of the chin line.
  • The skull is arched upwards and covered in the same purple fabric as the rest of the head.
  • The fabric on the top of the skull is wrapped tight, at the sides the fabric drapes down and around the costumers body.

  • The dress is slightly wider at the top than it is at the waistline and made from the same purple fabric as the rest.
  • The top of the dress is covered in wrinkles vertically placed.
  • The wrinkles void at the costumers waist and the dress continues with a wide flowing dress to the floor.
  • The dress is straight cut around the bottom.
  • The sleeves are long and billowing and they end past the wearers hand.
  • The entirety of the costumers body is covered by the dress.

  • The veil is long and made from the same purple fabric as the rest of the costume.
  • Attached in the back topmost section of the head is a long veil that touches the ground.
  • The veil is wide enough to wrap around the costumers shoulders and still have fountains of fabric around the body.

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.

  • Feet are not shown with this costume, the costumer can choose to have risers.
  • Boots, stilts, outer or inner lifts may be utilized.
