Description: Death Squad Commander
Prefix: ID
Detachment: Imperial Officer Corps
Context: Star Wars: A New Hope

Death Squad Commanders (or Death Star Troopers as they were sometimes described ) were highly skilled troops hand-picked from the infantry division of the Imperial Navy. They worked aboard the first Death Star's command center during the Galactic Civil War. As such, their duties included acting as security guards, monitoring sensor arrays, and handling hangar traffic control. They also monitored external sensor data, staying vigilant for rebel activity.

For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

The Imperial Officer Corps defines additional, optional levels of costuming excellence. In the page below, requirements for Level 2 “Executor” are listed in blue. Requirements for Level 3 “Imperator” are listed in red.

This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.

  • This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction; rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. Details on construction may be found on the respective costume detachment web forum.
  • GMLs uncertain about an aspect of submitted costume shall post questions in the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the Legion forum.

  • Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size.
