Context: The Clone Wars
The officer with the biggest aspirations to power and control in the Republic is the former governor of Eriadu – Wilhuff Tarkin. He is feared by his enemies as a cruel and resolute man with clear intentions. He served in some ranks before he became a captain, and was later promoted to the rank of an admiral.

For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.
The Imperial Officer Corps defines additional, optional levels of costuming excellence. In the page below, requirements for Level 2 “Executor” are listed in blue. Requirements for Level 3 “Imperator” are listed in red.

This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.
- This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction; rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. Details on construction may be found on the respective costume detachment web forum.
- GMLs uncertain about an aspect of submitted costume shall post questions in the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the Legion forum.
- Measurements given in this document are intended to be approximate and generalized; not criteria for approval.
- Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size.
- Text descriptions are only one part of the guideline. GMLs and costumers must consider both text and pictures (CRL and Reference) when reviewing the costume.

| Required Costume Components
|
|
The following costume components are present and appear as described below.
|
|
|
|
Hair and Facial Features
- Hair is dark blond with grey wisps at the sides and with a receding hairline, styled similarly to character in series.
- Eyes and cheekbones appear gaunt and darkened naturally or through makeup effects.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
- Facial appearance and hair match very closely to that of Admiral Tarkin in TCW.
|
|
|
|
Tunic
- Olive colored fabric is a medium weight suiting material exactly matching the pants.
- Tunic is double-breasted with a left over right closure on the tapered yoke.
- Yoke comes up across the shoulder to the top shoulder seam.
- The standing collar has square corners and closes snugly in the center. Collar includes a modesty panel.
- The tunic has black piping made of matte satin.
- There are epaulettes on each shoulder.
- Sleeves are long, and without cuffs or buttons.
- Sleeves contain 2 seams, one in front and one in back.
- There are two rank-bands of black satin ribbon on both sleeves.
- Tunic is constructed with no top-stitching (stitches visible on the exterior surface of fabric).

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
- The collar may be worn one of three ways:
- Option A: Square corners and closes snugly in the center with modesty panel.
- Option B: Rectangular shaped with left over right center closure.
- Option C: Rectangular shaped with left over right and closes on the left.

OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable):
- Tunic is secured on the right side by snaps or buttons.
- Not hook and loop fastener (Velcro).
- There is no top-stitching visible anywhere.
- A lining is sewn in.
- The shoulder lines are very straight in appearance which can be reached by extra shoulder padding.

Republic Officer Clone Wars Rank Bar
- Worn on the left side of the tunic above the piping.
- Rank consists of colored plastic tiles mounted inside a frame-plate painted in the same color as the uniform.
- The upper an lower frame are divided by a small indentation.
- Three red tiles in the top frame.
- Two blue tiles in the bottom frame.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
- Each bar is approximately 1 1/8" (28.6 mm) height.
- Length of the upper frame-plate is approximately 2 1/3” (6cm) wide.
- Length of the lower frame-plate is approximately 1 5/8” (4,1cm) wide.
- Rank tile dimensions are approximately 5/8" (16 mm) width x 7/8" (22 mm) height.
- The mounted tiles are slightly horizontally curved upwards in the middle.

Belt
- The belt is constructed from a non-textured leather or a leather-like material and is approximately 2" (51mm) wide.
- There are no loops on the belt.
- The buckle has rounded corners and constructed from a horizontally brushed metal, or metal looking material.
- Buckle is adorned with an Imperial Code Disk at the center.
- Please refer to the Imperial Buckle reference page for information on accurate and inaccurate style buckles.

- Belt is made of leather.
- Buckle has a slight horizontal curve.
- Buckle has Correct Clone Wars code disk .

Jodhpur Trousers
- Olive fabric is a medium weight suiting material exactly matching the tunic.
- Trousers are riding breeches with semi-stiff flares to the hip/thigh area and tucked into the boots.
- Pockets are acceptable but shall not be visible with the tunic on.

|
|
Republic Officer Boots
- Boots do not have a zipper.
- Boots are bulged wider on both sides of the ankle.
- The upper edge of the shaft is cuffed.

| Optional Accessories
|
|
Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.

Eye Color
- Blue contact lenses.
- The costumer is encouraged to contact their local health care provider before considering the use of contacts.
|
|
|
|
Gloves
- Gloves are made from black leather or leather-like material and have no top stitching or decoration.
|
|
|
|
E-5 Blaster-Rifle
- Blaster is lightly weathered.
