For our location in Madrid we are looking for a: Electrical Engineer as Project Manager for High-Voltage Direct Current Power Transmission (HVDC) (m/f/x) Your Tasks In this role, you will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of our projects in the field of substations and electrical installations. Your tasks will be as follows: ✔ Planning, designing and managing the implementation of power transmission projects, especially in the field of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission ✔ Upgrade, modification or construction of medium/high-voltage switchgear ✔ Being responsible for technical, contractual and commercial project management and project coordination ✔ On-site consultation with the client in the project country ✔ Providing technical input for proposals ✔ Preparing planning documents and tender documents as well as feasibility studies ✔ Comparison and evaluation of bids Your Profile ✔ Master, Bachelor or equivalent in energy/electrical engineering ✔ Several years of experience working in a similar context ✔ Experience in the field of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission ✔ Experience in implementing and managing power transmission projects ✔ Fluency in English ✔ Willingness to undertake regular trips to the project countries Have we piqued your interest? We are pleased to support the promising new Solar Methanol 1 Project of Vast Solar and Mabanaft, which has just been announced.   The Solar Methanol 1 (SM1) project is an innovative initiative by the Australien company Vast Solar, in partnership with the German energy company Mabanaft. Located in Port Augusta, Australia, SM1 aims to produce green methanol using solar energy. The technology developed by Vast Solar can generate power and heat continuously, which significantly reduces the cost of green fuel production. The project has received substantial funding from both the Australian and German governments, highlighting its potential to meet the growing demand for low-cost green fuels in industries such as shipping and aviation.   Fichtner already supported the SM1 project during the application for funding as part of the German-Australian "HyGATE" Program. We are pleased to share that the German Agency for International Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) published a study undertaken by Fichtner on green hydrogen certification processes in the EU. Certification is an essential part of the regulatory requirements to trade green hydrogen and its derivatives, called Power-to-X (PtX) products, and is therefore crucial for the success of a sustainable hydrogen economy. Through certification, proof of compliance with defined criteria of PtX-products is provided, thus enabling transparent trade of these commodities. However, the certification of these products is a new process with little or no long-term experience and a lack of compatibility between the different certification schemes. Moreover, current certification procedures, e.g. for green electricity or biofuels, have weaknesses, including susceptibility to fraud e.g. by double counting the same certificate, lack of traceability and high costs. Digitizing the certification process has the potential to solve these problems and make the process more transparent and cost-effective. To address this, GIZ and SAP are within the framework of the International Hydrogen Ramp-up Programme (H2Uppp) jointly investigating the requirements for solutions that facilitate the exchange of relevant data between private companies, certifiers, public bodies, and other process participants. The plan is to subsequently develop and test a digital pilot solution adapted to the Brazilian context. Fichtner was contracted to provide consulting support for these activities in project phase 1. Das Radteam von Fichtner beim Württemberg König 2024 Radrennen Am 21. Juli fand in Stuttgart das Radrennen Württemberg König statt. Sechs Kollegen stellten sich der Herausforderung an diesem anspruchsvollen Bergzeitfahren teilzunehmen. Von Untertürkheim ging es auf eigens für das Rennen gesperrten Straßen, stets bergauf nach Rotenberg, vorbei an der berühmten Grabkapelle bis ins Ziel beim Freizeitgelände der Egelseer Heide. Am Ende wurden von den Teilnehmern auf einer Strecke von knapp zwei Kilometern 147 Höhenmeter überwunden. Ganz besonders stolz sind wir auf unseren Kollegen Constantin Pack, der in seiner Altersklasse den 3. Platz belegte. #Fichtner #Team #event #teambuilding
