bright! deploys SP tracking solution at the largest theatre stage in the world 🌍 In the heart of Berlin, the Friedrichstadt-Palast recently put on a 100-person ensemble production of FALLING | IN LOVE. bright! studios played a pivotal role in enabling lighting and audio technology befitting such a grand performance. The key requirement was to implement backlights that follow the three main characters during the show. An automated tracking solution was needed as there was not enough room for three manual spotlight operators. After comparing radio and optical tracking systems, SP by Stage Precision GmbH stood out as the software of choice. Virtual Production workflow on hit Amazon Prime series Fallout a breeze with SP! Extensive and time-consuming camera tracking calibration across different technologies was unified into SP, saving time. Recalibration throughout the shoot could be run quickly and efficiently from the single source of truth in SP 🙌 “SP gave us the agility we needed to adjust on the fly. SP Education continues to expand globally! 🌎 Miami University has upgraded its facilities with a state-of-the-art Immersive and Reactive Lab and XR Stage! Complete with an impressive 50 by 70-foot stage and a 44 by 16-foot ROE Visual LED wall. The integration of advanced technologies, including Stage Precision software, has helped pioneer the new lab as a hub for exploring the boundaries of virtual production (VP) and extended reality (XR) experiences. With around 70 students enrolled on courses for VP and XR, students are learning everything from motion design and creating creative visuals for live music. They utilise immersive and reactive tools such as Notch, TouchDesigner and Unreal Engine. That is where SP comes in, “SP allows us to take the control and management out of several individual native softwares and hardwares and put them all into a single interface that can be used for calibration and control.” explains Benjamin Nicholson, assistant teaching professor and Immersive and Reactive Lab and XR Stage Director at Miami University. There are tons of tools to choose from in the immersive media field.
