Did you know that the latest generation of the Volkswagen assist system now comes as standard in the all-new Passat? 😊 Among them: the Volkswagen exit warning system! It helps to avoid dangerous situations when exiting the vehicle in inner-city traffic. The assist system can warn the driver and passengers about road users approaching the parked Volkswagen from behind. For example, within system limits, the system can detect cyclists, who are often among the most vulnerable road users. In addition to the driver and front passenger doors, the exit warning system also provides protection for the rear doors. 👍 #VWPassat #safety

😎 Convertibles are undoubtedly summer favourites. Looking for a real wow factor? Then imagine pulling up to an ice cream parlour in one of our six dreamy #CoolClassics that, unfortunately, never made it to production. The open-top VW Type 4 from 1968 is one such example. Convertible specialist Karmann developed this four-seater prototype based on the VW 411. What’s noteworthy is its automatically retractable folding roof with a zip-out rear window. The large body with a high beltline is striking, and the sweep of the side line adds a sense of lightness. In 1980, the VW Jetta breathed in fresh air with a hint of ‘strawberry basket’ charm: The open-top version of the two-door Jetta I saloon incorporated the iconic roll bar and body reinforcements from the Golf I Cabriolet. However, it’s the substantial boot that defines the Jetta Cabriolet. The VW Type 3 Cabriolet was family-friendly and timelessly elegant – with an elongated silhouette, fully retractable roof and panoramic rear window. The prototype and concept of a mid-class convertible made a big splash at the 1961 IAA. The same is true of the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia 1500 Type 34 Cabriolet. Alongside the Coupé, the convertible version of the ‘Large Karmann Ghia’ was also introduced in 1961. The open-top 2+2 seater, based on the VW 1500 Type 3, features a retractable roof and has been enchanting onlookers with its timeless elegance ever since. ☀️ The Corrado Roadster from 1989 is a dream sports car. This design study of an open-top two-seater, based on the VW Corrado, features an impressive elongated side view and retractable roof with a glass, heated rear window. Instead of the automatically extending spoiler of the Corrado Coupé, a permanently installed wind deflector graces the rear. The Roadster concept R from 2003 promises pure dynamism: an innovative, vibrant design where even the Volkswagen emblem on the steering wheel pulses with life. With sharp lines, cutting-edge functionality, and an adjustable sound from the 195 kW (265 PS) V6 engine, this cool convertible would have made a powerful statement.

50 years of Golf = 50 years of innovation! 🚗 Timeless design and innovative technology: the Golf IV, produced from 1997 to 2003. Volkswagen achieved a completely new quality standard in the segment with the Golf IV. Equipped with innovative technologies of its time, such as the first standard ESP in the compact class, it set new standards in safety and driving comfort. In 2001, the Golf GTI followed for the 25th anniversary of the GTI with 132 kW / 180 PS.
