Dr. Allison Metzinger joined Sonterra Dermatology in September 2018. A native Houstonian, Dr. Metzinger now resides in San Antonio with her husband and 2 kids. After graduating from Rhodes College, she attended Baylor College of Medicine where she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Metzinger completed her residency in Dermatology at the Medical College of Georgia in 2009 where she was chosen to serve as Chief Resident of Dermatology.
Dr. Metzinger is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is a member of several professional organizations including the Texas Dermatologic Society, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and Texas Medical Association. Dr. Metzinger has been the author of several peer-reviewed journal publications. She practices General Medical, Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology. Cosmetic interests include Botox and fillers for facial rejuvenation as well as sclerotherapy for spider veins.
Very nice office. Staff were pleasant and very professional. Minimal wait time took place. Dr Garcia is superb! Dr Metzinger is outstanding! Both have great, very pleasing “bedside manners.” Excellent experience in a first rate practice! I’ve now had three MOHS procedures for basal cell cancers on my face. I’m very pleased with the results; both Dr Neiner and Dr Owen are very professional and friendly, and they are highly skilled. Greg, the nurse, was outstanding as well. This is a superb medical practice. And, Dr Neiner is superb in dealing with skin cancer. Wonderful and efficient practice. Saw Dr Neiner again today for another skin cancer. He’s the best!!
It was such a pleasure to meet Dr. Metzinger today. She is very thorough and knowledgeable! Awesome assessment and recommendations. The staff personnel were awesome. I highly recommend Sonterra Dermatology and Dr. Metzinger.

I highly recommend Sonterra Dermatology ! I appreciate the friendless of their staff and the care and skill Dr Metzinger gives her patients. Dr Metzinger makes her patient the priority, and I feel very blessed to have her as my doctor.
