Fruitcakes is the 18th studio album by singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett. It was released on May 24, 1994, and was Buffett's first album since creating Margaritaville Records in 1990. Originally slated to be called "Quietly Making Noise," the album was recorded during a hiatus when Buffett was focusing on his writing career. During that time, he published the books "Tales from Margaritaville" (1989) and "Where Is Joe Merchant?" (1992).
