I think that her new party is called "Our Choice" (Наш Выбор).

Last name transliteration

edit

It seems to me that the true title of this article should be Khakamada, with Hakamada redirecting to it, not vice versa: regardless of the transliteration of the original Japanese, hers is now a Russian name represented in Cyrillic, and the latter translit rules should apply.

But why? It's a Japanese last name. Just because she lives in Russia, it doesn't mean anything. Unless you can show us that she herself translates her last name this way, this change can not be approved.

I've moved the article. There are far more sources in English that use the "Khakamada" spelling than there are using the "Hakamada" spelling. Use English.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); July 14, 2011; 13:45 (UTC)
Her official site's address is "hakamada".ru. She spells her last name this way.Melkij Bes (talk) 18:27, 26 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Some sources (Russian)

edit

These sources may be not sufficiently reliable (so I do not put them in main article), but they should be studied carefully.

No, this source does not seem to be very credible. Most links to original sources are broken. Biophys 17:40, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Her farther and uncle

edit

"Irina's father, Mutsuo Hakamada, was a communist who made policical asylum to Soviet just before the world war II and got the nationality of Soviet. He is far from POW; his brother, Satomi Hakamada, arrested in 1935 and was in prison until 1945 in Japan, became vice chair (No.2) of Japan Communist Party." FRom [13] "Khakamada is a second-generation Japanese-Russian. Her uncle, Satomi Hakamada, once served as deputy chairman of the Japanese Communist Party. She is the step-sister of Prof. Shigeki Hakamada, a noted Russian scholar at Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo." [14]

"Satomi Hakamada (1904-1990, a leader of the Communist Party. For the charge of espionage, he led Obata Tabuo to death during the interrogation. Later, he was expelled from the Japanese Communist Party.)" [15].

"The JCP group is led by Satomi Hakamada, member of the Party Presidium and Secretariat. An able negotiater, Hakamada led the JCP delegations to Moscow in March 1964 and in August 1968. After Miyamoto, Hakamada is considered to be the most powerful leader of the Japanese Party." [16]. Biophys 07:07, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that is all supported by books about Japanese Communist Party. Source says that he actually was the Chairman. This is relevant. If someone wrote an article about nice of Leonid Breznev, he would indicate that she was nice of Breznev. Biophys 14:26, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, seriously

I did not understand what you mean by FOAF here and why this was not making sense in the article.ilgiz 04:54, 7 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
See FOAF. - Sikon 11:38, 7 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. The link explains the acronym but does not tell why the main article cannot include multiply-indirect quotes.ilgiz 23:40, 7 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
