binomials

edit

I always thought that binomial names e.g. Genus species should be italicized but not Genera when they are mentioned separately. i.e. they should then simply appear without italics like Families, Orders, Class etc. do. --Lexor 12:30, 30 Oct 2003 (UTC)

No, genera are always italicized (any part of a binominal or trinominal is). Dysmorodrepanis 19:27, 27 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

cobweb habitude spiders

edit

i removed the merge proposition to Cobweb habitude spiders, because i don't think the main theridiid page should be extended into a key page. however, i linked the page under See also. --Sarefo 10:14, 18 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

common names

edit

In the first paragraph one of the common names listed is "the poisonous spider family". In 20 years studying spiders I have never heard Theridiidae called "the poisonous spider family", and I have never heard that term used at all. I'd say it should be deleted, unless some legit source for the name can be sited. The Spider Chick (talk) 11:42, 12 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Done. Peter coxhead (talk) 16:49, 12 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
