User:CSWarren/monobook.js instead of User::YOURNAME/monobook.js. Now I get it. Duh. I can't believe I didn't get it sooner. Thank you. :) CSWarren 10:36, 9 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi CSWarren. I received a message from Gimmetrow that suggested I look at the history of an article before simply Undoing. This will prevent undoing to a bad edit from an multi edit vandalism spree, such as you did with Cannibus. It slows you up somewhat, but ensures that you catch all the vandalism at once. Have fun.RadiantRay 21:07, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your VandalProof Application

edit

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, CSWarren. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. Category:Pseudoscience on Magnet therapy

edit

Hi, I notice you reverted my edit to Magnet therapy. I removed the Category:Pseudoscience tag, because the article is already in Category:Energy therapies, which is itself a sub-category of Category:Pseudoscience, so there's no reason to list it in both. In fact, having it in both clutters up the category pages and makes them less useful, which is I think contrary to what I think is our shared goal (making it easier to identify topics related to pseudoscience). If you feel that the article needs to more prominently declare that magnet therapy is considered to be pseudoscience, that should be done in the article itself (and properly referenced). Adding Pseudoscience to the "see also" section would be one way, and would place the text closer to the same location that the categories appear anyway. I'd like to have your thoughts on this, before I make any further changes to the page. Thanks, --Sapphic 21:13, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I just changed Final four to redirect to NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship again, you might want to make note of that. --W.marsh 13:41, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Pets

edit

Please don't tag entire families of birds as pet species because some of their members are kept as pets. The logic of that it just to tag bird with pet species, because some of those are too, thanks, Jimfbleak 16:53, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I didn't mean the above to sound so curt - it's one that come around every so often in one form or another (pets, poultry, heraldic birds etc -just one of those things. Jimfbleak 19:09, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please take a look at Controversies over the film Sicko and comment on merge proposal

edit

Hi,

The title says it all. I am requesting your opinion only because you've edited the Sicko (film) article and therefore appear to have an interest in the movie. I created the "Controversies" article and think it should stay, but I'd welcome your opinion whatever it is. If you consider this message annoying, I apologize. I'm leaving this message with you and some others without violating WP:CANVASS. I won't be leaving another message asking you to comment again. Noroton 23:24, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

League of Copyeditors

edit

I'm very sorry I haven't had a chance to welcome you earlier, I have been incredibly busy lately. We are glad to have your help. Currently, we have really cut down the backlog of articles in need of copyedit. Therefore, a major goal at this moment is to identify new articles that are in need of work. When you run across them, be sure to tag them for copyediting.

If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to drop me a line. Trusilver 21:47, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Shaw and Crompton FAC

edit

Hi. I'm sorry to bother you, but as a LoCE member, I just wondered if you would be willing to have a look through the Shaw and Crompton article. It is currently a Featured Article Candidate and needs a copy-edit for grammar by someone who hasn't yet seen it. Any other ways to improve the article would also be welcome. Thank you very much, if you can. Epbr123 12:19, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I can definitely review that page, but it won't be until this afternoon/evening at the earliest (copyediting at work is frowned upon :) ). CSWarren 13:45, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Antwort
I'm sorry -- I've been crazy-busy the last few days, and I don't see that lightening up any time soon. I apologize for not being able to copyedit your article. CSWarren 00:39, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

World of Warcraft

edit

Hiya, just wondering about this edit of yours. Why did you describe the removal of Category:Electronic sports games from this article as "removing vandalism"? Please join the discussion at Talk:World of Warcraft#Add to category: Electronic sports games if you disagree with this categorization. --Stormie 03:04, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please leave Soho redir as is

edit

Hello CSWarren. I realize you may be a fan of the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory spacecraft, but redirecting the acronym SOHO to its page is a poor use of redirection. I have restored the redir to point to the Soho disambig page, as it should be. In fact, there are several uses of the acronym that are far better known than the spacecraft-- in particular, the London and Manhattan neighborhoods and the Small office/home office class of software and hardware products, and the use of SOHO to designate the networks created by this software/hardware. If the link must be to something other than the disambig page, it should be to one of those. Thanks. JDG 11:57, 29 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please discuss more fully...

edit

I don't remember if we discussed this kind of edit before.

If not, could we please discuss it? There are hundreds of instances of Kalashnikov that could be redirected, or use a piped link, to AK-47, or AK47 or Kalishnikov, or whatever. Kalashnikov is a Russian name. The transliteration is essentially arbitrary.

I realized this when I had already created a bunch of articles that referenced Kalashnikov, where I had used piped links to AK-47. I changed my mind, and decided that using redirection was more useful than using piped links. Redirection makes it trivial for editors to determine which transliteration is used more frequently, which could be useful, if we need to rename the main article. It useful information. Interesting too. Using piped links obfuscates this information -- and it is more work.

Cheers! Geo Swan 00:42, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yoga poll

edit

Hi! There's some discussion on whether using "asana", "yogasana" or "yoga asana" as the article title. If you are acquainted with the subject, you are invited to drop your opinion at Talk:Yogasana#Opinion Poll on this article's name. Davin7 09:23, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate being invited, but I'm not any kind of subject-matter expert on Yoga. (It's my desire to learn more that brought me to the article; any changes I made should have involved grammar or formatting or technical stuff, not actual facts.) CSWarren 10:33, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Terribly sorry about that -- I'm usually pretty good about it. I will work harder to keep that in mind in the future. CSWarren (talk) 16:02, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
