CS1 error on Sydney central business district

edit

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Sydney central business district, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 00:06, 20 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Microburbs - a reliable source?

edit

Hi, there! I've noticed you and others have recently added contents citing microburbs, and I am concerned that this source might not be a "reliable source" (as per WP:RS). Generally we prefer to use government sources for this kind of information (census, crime stats, etc). While I am not suggesting that the microburbs site is seeking to mislead anyone, it appears to be combining data in ways it does not explain to produce a score/ranking and using terms like "underclass" etc without explanation of what this term means. Trying to get more information about what it is doing (e.g. what is meant by "underclass") ends with a paywall. It would be better if you used sites like the Australian Bureau of Statistics (its quickstats website is widely used on Wikipedia and I see you have cited it yourself, where the data can be more easily interpreted).

On a minor point, you are marking your edits as "minor" but you are not doing "minor edits". Basically if you change the information in any article, it's a major edit. Minor edits are fixing spelling, punctuation, rewording a sentence without changing its meaning. It's common for new contributors not to appreciate that "small edits" aren't automatically minor, so I thought I should mention it. When in any doubt, don't tick the "minor" box.

If I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to ask. Kerry (talk) 06:09, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
