A very viable WP:PROD, this article has come to AfD possibly because someone got confused with the PROD and BLP PROD rules, pointing to the presence of sources as a reason not to PROD. Unfortunately, the presence of some sources does not alleviate the problems with this entry. This article focuses on a minor aspect of sexuality that is not demonstrably notable as a subject outside of a broader discussion on Sexuality in Islam and represents an unneeded content fork. As an isolated subject, it is not covered independently by reliable, secondary sources - it is only covered as a minor mention in most sources (as befitting the fairly trivial and niche nature of the subject in works of a broader scope. As it stands, the subject is also largely the preserve of unreliable online resources, and this is reflected in the current source list. Merge into Sexuality in Islam. It is difficult to cover the topic of masturbation without covering Islamic perspectives on related practices like pre-marital sex, porn, age of marriage, Ghusl etc. They are all pretty tightly interconnected and thus the parent article is a better place to cover it.VR _talk 23:25, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kommentar. There are more sources that are specific to the intersection of Islam with masturbation. These include Masturbation: Scientific Evidence and Islam’s View, Solo sex: Masturbation in a sample of Egyptian women, Response to “Masturbation: Scientific Evidence and Islam’s View”, and Masturbation, Semen Collection and Men's IVF Experiences: Anxieties in the Muslim World, and Masturbation Experience: A Case Study of Undergraduate Students in Bangladesh. Deletion seems improper given the sourcing, and it seems to pass the WP:GNG based off of English-language sources alone. Has anybody looked for Arabic- or Turkish-language sources on this topic? My gut says that there's likely enough sourcing to make a whole article out of this, but I'd like a more holistic search before being certain on whether to keep or to merge. For a slightly less scholarly perspective, The Guardian of Nigeria has a short series touching this topic. Some articles focusing on Islamist extremist preachers, like Osama Bin Laden, also note specific teachings on masturbation in Radical Islam. There's more than enough to write an article, but I'm not sure whether this is covered better in the Sexuality in Islam article per WP:NOPAGE or to break into its own article given the diversity of Muslim practice with respect to this. — Ⓜ️hawk10 (talk) 20:25, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There is one source there that is specific to the subject, the Springer link, the others are either about the 'Muslim world', not Islam per se, or country-specific. So unless someone is going to go really wild and write an entire series of articles on masturbation in different Muslim-majority countries around the world ... ?
