I'm requesting template editor privileges due to recent changes that classify parts of the Template:Occupation_by_nationality_and_century_category_header as high risk [1]. I developed this template to help manage occupation categories and have become quite familiar with template syntax over the past year, though I do not consider myself an expert. My expertise lies more in R programming, which I teach as part of a data science class.

I meet nearly all the requirements for template editor privileges, except for having syntax requests implemented in other high-risk templates. While I have edited templates that have become high risk, I acknowledge that this is not the same. However, I have made a sizable number of technical contributions to RegExTypoFix, primarily in optimizing the regular expression. This is the code underlying the spellchecker used by AWB to implement uncontroversial misspellings. Smasongarrison, that template is only ExCon-protected, and thus you should be able to edit it. It otherwise doesn't sound like you need this permission. Primefac (talk) 13:38, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm requesting template editor permission for some edits related to Wikipedia:WikiProject Ships. I meet all of the guidelines and have held template editor permission in the past (see Special:UserRights/RP88 and Special:PermaLink/805154993 for original grant), but previous template editor permission was dropped during a period of inactivity on my part. I am not sure if it is relevant to en.WP, but as a Commons administrator I have made hundreds of edits to the restricted templates/modules in the Commons Module and Template namespaces. —RP88 (talk) 23:45, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
