Similar to the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm

I'm wondering how we can point out the fact that this venue will be somewhat similar to the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm in the sense that it will be a similar shape. Any ideas? --MusicAndArtFan (talk) 19:44, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Name

"MSG Sphere at The Venetian" appears to be the official name and the more common name. A Google search brings up 7,730 results for "MSG Sphere Las Vegas" (enclosed in quotation marks) vs. 11,700 results for "MSG Sphere at The Venetian". Newslibrary also shows this to be the common name, with 228 search results vs. 34. "MSG Sphere Las Vegas" was the initial name used at the time of the project's announcement, but it has seen little usage in sources since the project broke ground in September 2018. Since then, "MSG Sphere at The Venetian" has been primarily used. The page should probably be renamed if there are no objections.  AJFU  (talk) 17:08, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This should never have been renamed. I live here and no one ever ever ever refers to it as the sphere at the Venetian. My husband is an electrician there and he also confirmed no one refers to it as that. 2600:8801:480:1BC0:149D:6E21:2BEB:2077 (talk) 07:49, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It assume you're referring to a more recent renaming of the article that occurred six months ago, when the title went from "MSG Sphere at The Venetian" (commonly used among sources) to just "Sphere at The Venetian Resort". Initially, I had a hard time finding usage of the latter name in reliable sources, although it did appear to be an official name according to the Sphere's website. Since the article was renamed, some sources have started using "Sphere at The Venetian Resort" more frequently.
However, the official website now simply calls it "Sphere" (examples here and here), and it looks like this has become the common name among sources ([1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6]). Just Sphere on its own won't work (that name is already used for a different article), but what about Sphere (Las Vegas)?  AJFU  (talk) 16:51, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I Agree. Sphere (Las Vegas) is far more appropriate, given your reasoning and also that MSG is planning on building a second sphere in London, which for continuity could perhaps be renamed Sphere (London) or something similar. Overly Simplistic Username (talk) 17:03, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I will go ahead and rename the page next week if there are no objections.  AJFU  (talk) 15:17, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New Photo?

Now that the venue is complete, does anyone have a new photo we can use of the completed venue? --IndustryPlantCooper (talk) 19:14, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Im going to request a gif for this article. Update: Ive looked through the wikipedians, who are residents in Las Vegas. Only three of them were active in 2023. Ive contacted them and hope one of them would be willing to make a video of it for wikipedia. LennBr (talk) 00:56, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 3 October 2023

Sphere at the Venetian ResortSphere (venue) – Based on what I am seeing, it appears as if the venue is simply going simply by "Sphere". I figure it is best to label it as a venue, but regardless, "at the Venetian Resort" does not appear to be in the name based on my research. JE98 (talk) 21:20, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
