Duke Elimar of Oldenburg

Anton Gunther Friedrich Elimar (January 23, 1844 - October 17, 1895) was a prince of Oldenburg. He was the child of August, Grand duke of Oldenburg and his wife, Princess Cecilia of Sweden daughter of, King Gustav IV Adolf of Sweden. He was the youngest of all sons but, apparently the only one who lived. His elder stepsister was Amalia of Oldenburg, Queen Consort of Greece. Anton was a charming prince and tried his best to please his worried father.His father was determined to keep his living son alive and make his wife, Cecilia proud. Anton was patient but, unlike his other stepsister and stepbrothers he wanted to have a good education. He went to public academies which, made his father concerned. When his father died Anton felt lonely but, continued to take public academies he later met, Baroness Natalie (1854-1937) they married on April 23,1868 but, divorced after 2 years they did not have children Anton later wrote of Natalie Never really liked her but, was a charm Anna was just somehow better. He met Princess Anna of Croy (1857-1893), the daughter of Rudolf, 11th duke of Croy and his wife, Princess Natalie of Ligne in 1868 and the two fell in love. After years, of studying. Princess Anna's father finally let the couple marry on September 19, 1874 at a chapel near Croy. Princess Anna, herself was the younger sister of Princess Isabella of Croy. They lived a happy live and had 6 children:

  • Princess Ursula Anne (1875-1879)
  • Princess Marie (1876-1965) married Prince Phillip Ferdinand of Tuscany
  • Princess Louise (1877-1903) Prince Frederick of Brandenburg, last son of Princess Antoinette, 1st wife of Prince Anthony
  • Amelia Caroline (1880-1960) married Prince Brian of France (1879-1955), no issue divorced remarried to Prince Francisco d' Assisi of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, son of Prince Alfonso, Count of Caserta had stillborn.
  • Prince Georg August (1881-1908) married Princess Maria Giuseppina of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, daughter of Prince Alfonso, Count of Caserta
  • Princess Francisce Sophie (1883-1910) married Prince Gennero of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, son of Prince Alfonso, Count of Caserta
