Category:Archaeology of Southern Africa

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Archaeology in the region of Southern Africa, as defined by the UN (Botswana, South Africa, ESwatini, Lesotho, and Namibia). As of now, certain countries lack categories to add to this one. Please note this category is intended for Archaeological cultures, industries, complexes (archaeological phenomena which share key traits but are evidently culturally distinct), or other traditions/complexes; it is not intended for individual Archaeological sites, which would accordingly go into the "Archaeological Sites of Southern Africa" category.

Put differently, an article describing the historic Bokoni "Society"/Culture would be classified under this category, whereas an article which specifically describes the Bokoni-associated site of Blaauboschkraal stone ruins (the famous "Bokoni ruins") would be classified under the Archaeological Sites category.
