Persistent WP:BLPSPS violations by people who don't seem to understand random people with Twitter accounts are not acceptable references for claims about living people. FDW777 (talk) 12:43, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

FDW777, Can you give some diffs where this was added? Dirk Beetstra T C 13:17, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Used as a "reference" for claims about living people on Bell Ribeiro-Addy, Brexit Party, List of elected British politicians who have changed party affiliation, 5th Scottish Parliament, Freddy Vachha and plenty of edits by BalancePowerUK (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) such as this, this, this, and this. tamilnation.org

[edit]

When I tried to expand a bare URL in Hinduism in Sri Lanka, I got a Firefox warning that the website was using a certificate valid only for netlify.com. Miniapolis 03:36, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Miniapolis, maybe it is hosted on netlify.com? Dirk Beetstra T C 07:26, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know; FF stopped me from linking to it, and I don't have much experience with bad links or malware (or Netlify's security, if any). Maybe I should remove the link, with an explanation in the edit summary. Miniapolis 14:44, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

worldheritage.org

I would like to get worldheritage.org removed from the blacklist so I can use it as a citation to the article Out of Africa. That article currently has a useful quote which I have identified as coming from that external site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Phersh (talkcontribs) 02:42, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

no Declined This site is a WP:MIRROR and cannot be used as a reference. The fourth line of the article you were attempting to add included the text "sourced from Wikipedia" along with a link back to here. Unfortunately, due to the deceptive nature of that site and its many alternate domains, it has been blacklisted to avoid situations just like this. Kuru (talk) 15:03, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

spammers are adding links using this domain, which redirects to valid web pages on other sites, but a cursory look at the home page shows it for what it is. Examples:

Similar spamming recently occurred on Wikispecies. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 09:56, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Pigsonthewing: Handled on meta. --Dirk Beetstra T C 10:34, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I looked at that first, but the page to which you refer says "Please provide evidence of spamming on several wikis and prior blacklisting on at least one wiki.". Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:24, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Pigsonthewing, hmm, that does not make sense. We blacklist a lot of material that is just plainly spammed cross-wiki without having previous blacklisting locally. I have removed the second half of that sentence. Thanks for noticing that. Dirk Beetstra T C 07:43, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

kwhen.com

[edit]

Almost bot like additions, batches done as an edit every 5-15 minutes over a span of hours. Adding a list of stock information type sites, but KWhen is the one that doesn't appear anywhere else on Wikipedia, so I believe that one is the object of the spam campaign. About 100 articles hit so far. - MrOllie (talk) 20:38, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done, cleaned up the sock drawer a little as well. Kuru (talk) 03:35, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

thatshelf.com

[edit]

There is a problem about editing accolades in Wolfwalkers page. It has a spam blacklist so, the edit can't saved right now. SamuelLovesFilms (talk) 11:51, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I just successfully edited the accolades section in the Wolfwalkers page (as well as the entire page), so it sounds like you're trying to add a new link. It would help if you stated what link you are trying to add. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:20, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
SamuelLovesFilms, you are adding a google.com/amp link for thatshelf.com, which is the search engine redirect to the actual link you want to add. Follow the link from the google search page and then copy the url from the address bar of your browser. Dirk Beetstra T C 04:05, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
