Padre Vicente Garcia Memorial Academy was established in 1946 in honor of a Filipino priest Fr. Vicente García y Teodoro.[6] The institution was founded by Dr. Melecio Z. Bolaños, Crisanto A. Gualberto, Fidel Luna, and Mayor Fiscal Jose P. Recto.[7] Dr. Bolaños served as the first president of the academy, succeeded by Mayor Fiscal Jose P. Recto. The academy was named to reflect Padre Garcia's dedication to God and country.

As the first and oldest high school in Rosario, Batangas, Padre Vicente Garcia Memorial Academy commenced its inaugural first and second-year classes on July 1, 1946. Initial talks and lectures were conducted at the residences of Mr. Jose Maranan and Don Antonino Luancing.

Following the death of Dr. Bolaños, the leadership of the academy was entrusted to Attorney Jose P. Recto as president, Mr. Lucio Magsino as secretary, Dr. Fidel Luna as treasurer, and Dr. Crisanto A. Gualberto as auditor. The main school building, constructed in 1947, was made of nipa and "Sawaling Pampanga" wood.[8]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the implementation of blended learning at Padre Vicente Garcia Memorial Academy included the adoption of Genyo e-learning, provided by Diwa Learning Systems Inc. This platform facilitated the continuation of educational activities amidst the restrictions imposed by the health crisis.[9]
