- 15:3815:38, 25 August 2023 diff hist +7 m Llandrindod Wells Updated the IPA: to transcribe welsh Llan (/ɬæn/ or /ɬan/) as /klæn/ is simply incorrect. it may be pronounced this way by some (usually English) people but even most Welsh people without Cymraeg (which is sadly most of Powys and Landod) will just say it as /l/ as evidenced by the nickname Landod. /kl/ not in any way 'correct' or 'proper' nor a good approximation and Wikipedia should not be promoting it as a pronunciation guide, its got less credence than putting /hlan/ or /θlan/.
