Single U.S. casualty?

[edit]

The 'Vietnam War U.S. Military Fatal Casualty Statistics Electronic Records Reference' lists only a single US casualty in all of 1974. I am curious as to how the casualty rate could possibly have been so low even given that the U.S. had reduced operations and was preparing to pull out. I am also curious who this casualty was if it is possible to ascertain. 2601:246:C280:5421:D411:9276:81C4:9798 (talk) 07:46, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

All US military forces had withdrawn in March 1973, the US wasn't a combatant in 1974. Presumably the one American killed was an Embassy guard or member of Defense Attaché Office, Saigon (1973–1975). Mztourist (talk) 05:44, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I checked the Virtual Wall and there is no US personnel listed there as having died in 1974. Its possible that the DoD changed the status of a missingservice member in 1974. Mztourist (talk) 06:50, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
