more storms

[edit]

Heres an article listing all of the WPAC storms.Storm05 15:41, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Best source is the JTWC ATCRs for the year.

Todo

It needs at least a one sentence description of every storm to be a start.--Nilfanion (talk) 09:21, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Janis Question

[edit]

I was near Seoul South Korea when Janis hit. The storm was being reported as a tropical storm by both U.S. military and Korean news sources until it the edge of the storm hit land. After the storm had passed both the U.S. Army and Korean News sources were reporting it as a typhoon. Dartmouth University ( http://www.dartmouth.edu/~floods/Archives/1995sum.htm )lists the storm as a typhoon when it hit South Korea. However a U.S. Navy arcticle ( http://www.npmoc.navy.mil/jtwc/atcr/1995atcr/pdf/wnp/10w.pdf ) reports wind speeds of only 27 meters a second (60.3 mph) as being recorded. Does anyone have additional information on the storm's classification? --glassjar99 16:21, 30 August 2006 (UTC)glassjar99[reply]

Infobox suggestion

[edit]

When we have collected a sufficient amount of info about the typhoons in this article, you may fill them with infoboxes, the reason why I put the template to call editors' attention on the article.--Sir Jazer 13 (talk) 03:16, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in 1995 Pacific typhoon season

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of 1995 Pacific typhoon season's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Expanding sections

[edit]

@HurricaneRaindrop57 and KN2731: I saw how well you two expanded the Hurricane Hilda and the Hurricane Olaf sections in the 2015 Pacific hurricane season page. On this page, could one of you do the same thing to the Typhoon Faye section? You can add another reference if you want for that section but I didn't find anything else. Don't worry, the other person could fill out the empty sections on the page if you find references for them. Thanks, 73.223.175.207 (talk) 08:01, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@73.223.175.207: I only managed to find the Joint Typhoon Warning Center's best track for Faye, unfortunately, it doesn't say much, just a list of 1-minute winds and the location in coordinates (to a tenth of a degree) every 6 hours. KN2731 (talk) 03:15, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@KN2731: Oh, that's okay. You did a good job on that section. See, I could fill in empty sections if I didn't have a tendency to copy exactly as it is worded in the reference. About the lack of references, at least we already had a reference for that section which is a very good one. But still keep the track. I was also unable to find any other references. Now, if you find them, could you upload images for sections that don't have any? And that's also if you have time. Thanks, 73.223.175.207 (talk) 05:48, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@73.223.175.207: Unfortunately I haven't found any good images - most of the archives didn't cover those storms. KN2731 (talk) 06:17, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
