Keeping win-loss record of other teams update here

[edit]

HM211980 has added the season record for teams that Tech has played. I reverted the edits, but he added them back in. So, let's come to a consensus on what should be done. I think they are out of place. How SMU is doing at the middle or end of the season is tangential. Seeing the team's current record in this article is confusing, since it could appear that was the record at the time of the game. I have again removed the additions until we can come to a decision. →Wordbuilder (talk) 19:46, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. We have enough to keep up with on this article, and adding opponent's records will just be adding another one. Opponent records are irrelevant; opponent's rankings, however, would be more appropriate to keep an eye on. --Almosthonest06 (talk) 20:18, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I could go either way on this one. I do think it is important to provide a sense of what caliber opponent the team is facing. However, I think having the opponent's won/loss record in the prose is a little too cluttered. I would prefer to use prose in each game section to explain how the opponent is doing coming into the game. I think having the rankings (where applicable) in the schedule and box scores is also helpful. Johntex\talk 17:31, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated section from article

The portion below is outdated so I removed it from the article. In the event it is updated, it should be moved from the talk page. →Wordbuilder (talk) 17:36, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BowlTourneyResult field in info box

[edit]

The BowlTourneyResult is for the result of the bowl game. As stated before 'TBD' is not a result of a game and does not belong in that field. There is a hanging comma because the game has not been played yet. The correct formatting for this template is to leave the 'BowlTourneyResult' field blank until there is an actual result to the game. This is the same format used on pages all through out the college football project. Rtr10 (talk) 06:55, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see nothing wrong with putting TBD there, thats exactly what TBD is used for, the result of the bowl game is "To Be Determined". Whether it's there or not doesn't really matter, but it's certainly not incorrect. Ryan2845 (talk) 14:05, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ryan2845 and I agree on this one. The outcome is "To Be Determined". The hanging comma looks bad, while "TBD" indicates that the line is complete even though the final result is not yet known. →Wordbuilder (talk) 14:51, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How something looks is going to vary, as opinions usually do, from person to person. In my opinion the big TBD looks kind of annoying, but I realize that is just my opinion and may vary from others. However the template page (Template:NCAATeamSeason/doc) is pretty clear under Usage/Description of fields, if you want to look at that. It is a results field and as stated before 'TBD' is not a result. Rtr10 (talk) 01:21, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
