Good to go then, original hooks preferred. John P. Sadowski (NIOSH) (talk) 00:01, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DH

[edit]

Will the designated hitter rule be in place for both teams, or just when the American League team is the home team? Yoninah (talk) 19:59, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The DH rule is in effect for all games. —KuyaBriBriTalk 17:25, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What idiot put this in?

[edit]

“Though still officially named World Series Champions, due to the season being dramatically shortened the winner (Dodgers) will have an asterisk (*) and actually considered as winning the MLB 2020 Extended Tournament.” is what pathetic lowlife hating clowns say because they’re mad that their team couldn’t even win in a shortened season this year. Robin.lemstra (talk) 07:06, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Especially since there's no RS for any official ever saying any such thing.
With that said, it's not unworthy of discussion, I would think. Something like:
Recognition
Many sports fans have suggested adding an asterisk to any individual statistics,(citation) and to the championship.(citation) The overwhelming consensus among sports analysts and players is that there should be no asterisk for the World Series champions,(citation) unless it signifies the challenges faced by all baseball clubs in a COVID-shortened season.(citation)
... which would be ridiculously easy to cite. —ATS (talk) 17:07, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
ATS, I would say that any such talk is likely WP:UNDUE. 2020 counts just as much in the stat books as any other season. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:16, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That much is true, Muboshgu; however, this past season being unlike any other, and given the massive (as these things go) discussion, I don't see WP:UNDUE as a factor. —ATS (talk) 17:50, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I've added the section. I believe it's written and cited in a manner that satisfies UNDUE. — ATS (talk) 17:45, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Robin.lemstra, assume good faith and be WP:CIVIL. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:13, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh indeed. I just had a proble with someone writing the “pathetic lowlife hating clowns” part in an official article. That’s the main reason I changed it. Robin.lemstra (talk) 18:47, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
