Notes for Other Editors

[edit]

This has been a solo work thus far. Here are some tips for anyone wishing to chip in.

  • Institutions are grouped by province or territory, then ordered alphabetically.
  • Unlike in the British example, all of the necessary information is conveniently available on the Public Register of Arms, Flags and Badges. Under civil institution there are three categories to harvest: University (54 distinct entries); University Faculty, Department & College (33 entries); University Association (5 entries). I have already done all of the first group and some of the second them. I recommend listing subsidiary institutions directly underneath their parent organisation.
  • Full university names should be are in bold, but lesser and subsidiary institutions not so.
  • Fair use is not accepted on pages like this, so if a non-free image is used on the institution's own article (such as copied from its website) it must be recreated as a free image for this one.
  • The article at present is only a list. It could do with a top paragraph to explain the importance of the topic.

added a stub lead paragraph

[edit]

Just started a short lead paragraph & plan to add another sentence or 2. I'm thinking to include a reference to this article from UA/AU (Canadian site): The coat of arms: a university’s iconic brand identity Redwidgeon (talk) 23:04, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

fleshed out the lead & added context

[edit]

Like the line above says. I boldly removed the 'lead paragraph needed' & 'more context needed' templates. Redwidgeon (talk) 23:32, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
