Cleanup

[edit]

This article's a bit of a mess at the moment. I say this because:

  1. It appears to be missing large amounts of information such as Babylon's presence in Singapore, their unicorn status and their partnership with hospitals for their COVID care assistant tool.
  2. There are six uses of Twitter as a source, often with questionable credibility/notability of the individual being quoted. This is part of a general citation issue the article has - for example at one point a wordpress.com blog is cited.
  3. There's a bunch of information in the introduction that isn't repeated elsewhere and, as such, is under-developed. An example would be the recent 'security score' added to the intro.
  4. The structure has become very odd. The funding section, under GP At Hand, for example, explains their NHS funding, but nowhere is any of their other funding mentioned (which, given their international presence, I would assume would be the majority of their funding?). It can't be added in the current structure as funding is only currently under GP At Hand. That same section, because it's the only funding section, discusses their series C funding, but series A funding is in the history section, which creates inconsistency that makes it difficult to actually understand their funding history.
  5. General copyediting issues, including frequent uses of 'admit', 'although', 'claim', 'exposing', 'however', 'massive' and 'reveal' (WP:EDITORIAL)

I think a lot of these issues are structural, with information in the wrong places, which leads to the article being difficult to follow. This will only get worse as the article continues to grow in size. Due to this, a decent-sized re-write may make sense - I'm happy to have a go over the next couple of weeks. That would be wonderful! One issue is that the bulk of the material is negative, and has been added by accounts that have never edited any other page, and were often created just before the first edit of the Babylon page (presumably expressly for this purpose). Babylon is disruptive and arouses strong opposition in some quarters. There is plenty of positive material out there. I suffer from CoI so can't edit, but could list some sources here if that were of use to you. Rhanbury (talk) 15:12, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't look like Itsfini has made changes yet but the points raised are entirely valid. I am going to have a go at cleaning up the lead section in this article and take it from there. Fountainofyouth (talk) 20:43, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Having just spent more time going through this page has only added fuel to the fire in the context of the problems that exist. I've added some details to the lead section regarding global operations but the rest of the lead needs resolving. There are many controversies in the lead section right now; one reference should suffice with the remainder cited in the appropriate section. Will revisit this soon but welcome additional insights and contributions to anyone who could lend a hand / some opinions. Fountainofyouth (talk) 22:04, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Re excluded patients

[edit]

I am thinking about updating this section. Their criteria of exclusion seems to have changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikipeekabo (talkcontribs) 20:13, 14 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can you give a link?

Removal of the Advert tag

[edit]

Reading the content as it exists today, it doesn't read like an advert. Far from it, as there is extensive coverage given to various criticisms. The original issues have been addressed in various edits since the tag was applied, in particular by MDevice. I'm an employee of Babylon, so suffer from WP:COI, so I don't think I should be the one to do it, but I think somebody should! Rhanbury (talk) 15:44, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I just removed a load of noise about the app and how much it costs that was clearly copy-and-pastes from their website. There's a pretty big 'Controversies' section now so if this is supposed to be an advert it's not a very good one! I don't know how to get the tag removed. Is it up to the person that added it in the first place? 212.161.78.84 (talk) 11:04, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
