Edit War now in progress.

[edit]

in this edit Bardigang removed the "Controversy" section with the edit summary Not a controversy since he received a songwriting credit (although a cited source described it as a controversy). This removal was reverted by Abelmoschus Esculentus, and later by Nice4What (3 times) after the content was again removed each time by Bardigang. This is calssic edit warring, and as such is not acceptable. It is nearing violation of the 3-revert rule.

Bardigang, in case you did not know, repeatedly reverting another editors edit, or repeating your own edit after it has been reverted multiple times is not acceptable. Nice4What, that is still true if you are reverting editwarring by another editor. Don't warr back, summon assistance or take it to the talk page.

I came here from the Teahouse, where Bardigang posted about this issue. I have no opinion about the merits of the dispute. Please discuss the matter here in a civil fashion, citing sources. If revert warring continues, i am prepared to block users or protect the page, even if it is on the Wrong version. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:54, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy exists [1] [2] Cardi has responded three different times [3] [4] [5] Reactions [6] Nice4What (talk) 23:15, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
User:DESiegel, User:Nice4What - As per WP:NOTRUMOUR "Wikipedia is not a collection of product announcements and rumors. Speculation and rumor, even from reliable sources, are not appropriate encyclopedic content." Jordan Thorpe is credited as a co-writer of the song therefore there is no ghostwriting therefore there is no "controversy" or notability. Had he not been credited as a songwriter and if there was a law suit, then this would have been notable but the sources you are citing don't even accuse Cardi of ghostwriting. The Complex source you use above says "Fontaine is the alias of Jordan Thorpe, who is also credited on Cardi’s Grammy-nominated record “Bodak Yellow.” Trademark filings show Fontaine and Thorpe are the same individual, which debunks the ghostwriter theory. And how could she have stole the song if Fontaine received credit for his contributions?" Bardigang (talk) 07:55, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The rumors and allegations came from Twitter users, Idk how encyclopedic that is. I don't think this needs a section. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 17:39, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Nice4What: @Bardigang: I'll proceed to remove this section if it is not of importance anymore. Since it received 0 attention from major media. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 04:58, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
