I am not sure there are enough reliable sources to sustain an entire article for Bertie Beaver, perhaps there is a larger article that could mention Bertie Beaver, and this article could redirect to there?

Anyway, other stuff I found (on Factiva):

  • Bertie Beaver is the mascot of Alberta Sustainable Resource Development (Landmarks put north side on the map, Edmonton Journal, 2007, Christopher Spencer )
  • "Though Smokey is designated official firebruin in most parts of the country, Quebec favours Garofeu the Chipmunk, Alberta employs Bertie Beaver, and the Northwest Territories enjoy the services of Tuktu the Caribou" (Massaging the Message, Peter Kenter, 2004, OH&S Canada)
  • "The Bertie Beaver character was originally drawn by Walt Disney Studios. After Disney made a movie in Alberta in the 1950s, Mr. Disney permitted the forest service to use the character" (The Globe and Mail, 28 November 2001, Salesman became Smokey the Bear of the Prairies, Tom Hawthorn)
