Naming pattern

[edit]

His 1356 adventure is titled Chevauchée of the Black Prince. It might be better to either make these two titles more consistent, or make them more different. This is confusing. Dicklyon (talk) 03:02, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Dicklyon: - An editor moved the page from Chevauchée of the Black Prince (1356) to Chevauchée of the Black Prince, as at that time it was the only article about the chevauchées of the Black Prince. I did attempt to rename along same lines of this article recently but it is a redirect which would need to be deleted to make way for page move. I cannot do this. Regards Newm30 (talk) 10:23, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that. The year was an unnecessary disambiguator because the other article used a different naming pattern. And yes you can move it, by asking at WP:RMTR. Dicklyon (talk) 19:03, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, there's nothing at Black Prince's chevauchée of 1356; you can just move it. Dicklyon (talk) 19:47, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, you got it moved; why/how did you not leave a redirect? Dicklyon (talk) 20:50, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That would probably be because Chevauchée of the Black Prince would need to be a dab page to link to multiple chevauchées of the Black Prince. I will review later. Newm30 (talk) 22:10, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I made a dab page of it. Dicklyon (talk) 04:56, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

How much wine?

[edit]

The article contains the following, "Before the war commenced well over 1,000 ships a year departed Gascony. Among their cargoes were over 200,000,000 imperial pints (110,000,000 litres; 240,000,000 US pints) of wine. (refs: Rodger 2004 pp=xix–xx, 79; Curry 2002 p=40)", which has been copy/pasted into a number of articles. I have edited it because it is wrong in several ways; it is OR, relies on a synthesis of the sources, and gives the wrong amount anyway. This was discussed at length a couple of years ago, but the wrong information is still here, so I have fixed it, here and elsewhere. Moonraker12 (talk) 21:37, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
