Two of this year's Nobel laureates were born in Changchun: Ei-ichi Negishi (Chemistry Nobel, 2010) was born in Changchun during the Japanese occupation in the 1930's, and Liu Xiao Bo (Peace Nobel, 2010) was also born in Changchun in the 1950's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.140.190.92 (talk) 14:53, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tone

[edit]

This article doesn't seem to have the seem tone or encyclopediac voice that many wikipedia articles have. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.167.137.46 (talk) 05:17, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pop.

The population has two numbers in this article. The main article says 6.something million and the box on the right says 7.something million. Which one is correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.182.130.226 (talk) 03:52, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:6th winter asiad.png

[edit]

Image:6th winter asiad.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

China's Cinncinati

[edit]

Is there any evidence that the city is in fact referred to by this name? It's not mentioned at all in the cited link and searching in English or Chinese doesn't seem to yield any results. Just one article on soccernet, and I'm guessing they got their info from this page in the first place. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Diskokidd (talkcontribs) 21:32, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Anecdotally, I've heard people refer to Changchun as China's Detroit, as it is well-known for car production and has experienced rust-belt-like economic hardship in recent years. --Mingjai (talk) 17:04, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I live in Changchun now, and I can assure you that no one has ever referred to Changchun as China's Cinncinati. I would be very surprised if the people here has even heard or Cinncinati. Many people refer to Changchun as China's Detroit. Changchun main industry is automotive and the largest employer is FAW and the FAW joint ventures. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.161.73.193 (talk) 11:16, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnic group populations

[edit]

No source has been provided that provides the stats for populations of the different ethnic groups living in Changchun. I have had a difficult time trying to find one myself. If anyone is able to provide one that would be much appreciated. Bambi'nin annesi (talk) 21:51, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
