If someone with better copyedit skills could fix this paragraphs so that a) it doesn't read like a tourist guide and b) be less POV and use more encyclopedic language, it would be great. Thanks. -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 20:58, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Condesa neighborhood is considered to be one of the most progressively modern places in the city. It is a central hub where hipster culture, art, modernity, and free thought converge in a fresh atmosphere among lounges, martini bars, and sidewalk coffee houses.

It is one of the few places other than Polanco (in the north-western area of the city) or Colonia Roma (in the central area, and just beside Condesa) where Mexico City's true cosmopolitan, modern nature is on display. On weekdays, it's an oasis of beauty and calm, but on weekends its alter ego jolts to life as the boisterous beehive of Mexico's young, hip, and stylish move in. The action centers arround the cafes clustered around some streets like Michoacán, Atlixco or Vicente Suárez, but chic restaurants line Tamaulipas Avenue and groovy bars are popping up around Parque México.
