Submission

[edit]

Just a small heads-up, but it appears that Jokwe's name was submitted by Botswana.[1] Hurricane Angel Saki My own personal NHC 08:29, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Survey

[edit]

WP:Good article usage is a survey of the language and style of Wikipedia editors in articles being reviewed for Good article nomination. It will help make the experience of writing Good Articles as non-threatening and satisfying as possible if all the participating editors would take a moment to answer a few questions for us, in this section please. Would you like any additional feedback on the writing style in this article? If you write a lot outside of Wikipedia, what kind of writing do you do? Is your writing style influenced by any particular WikiProject or other group on Wikipedia? At any point during this review, let us know if we recommend any edits, including markup, punctuation and language, that you feel don't fit with your writing style. Thanks for your time. - Dan Dank55 (talk) 15:59, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. The survey will end on April 30. - Dan Dank55 (talk) 20:49, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I always enjoy feedback on my writing. Personally, I just write and hope it's good, so I like changes to the article, as well as recommended changes. Outside of Wikipedia, the only form of writing I do is songwriting. My writing style has developed since I joined Wikipedia back in 2006, so I'd say it has been my involvement with the tropical cyclone Wikiproject that has assisted in the development of my writing. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 22:58, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA review

[edit]
GA review (see here for criteria)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (MoS):
I'll pass writing, but I'd like to see numbers agree with the MoS. Not a big deal, as only one number is such
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
I'd like some more non-newspaper impact sources, but they'll do.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
    Excellent images
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

Overal, an excellent article. There is one number above 10 that is spelled out, which doesn't agree with the MoS, but it's not major enough to affect the article. Thus, I'm happy to say that the article Passes GA. Good work on improving this article to GA status. Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 00:51, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
