Fair use rationale for Image:Disley.png

[edit]

Image:Disley.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:59, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The contested image "Disley.png" has subsequently been removed, leaving this article without an image of its subject. I have uploaded one of my own photos of Diz to Wikimedia Commons under an open licence and added it to the article just now.Tony1212 (talk) 00:27, 11 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article style

[edit]

I feel that in its present form certain parts of the article rely too much on long quotes from published sources rather than offering an overview in the editorial voice. If there is no disagreement I will attempt to re-write the portions in questions into something more consistent with wikipedia biographic style, also look for additional sources which will fill out more corners of the Disley story (for example his many eccentricities and humorous aspects, also more context to his musical constributions). Stay tuned...Tony1212 (talk) 00:25, 11 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Partial discography

[edit]

Can the other artists be linked, if not in the sub-section title then by some other means? Martinevans123 (talk) 22:17, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OK, done (via remove sub-sections, change into simple headers) Tony 1212 (talk) 04:29, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks, Tony 1212. I think that's a big improvement. Martinevans123 (talk) 20:40, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome, the original sub-sections were inherited from a previous version, I think it reads better without them too. Tony 1212 (talk) 21:17, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
