Fair use rationale for Image:Do it again.jpg

[edit]

Image:Do it again.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Who sang the lead vocals?

[edit]

In Do It Again (Steely Dan song)#Credits, it says that Donald Fagen was on electric piano, organ and vocals but when performed on the "Midnight Special", Donald Fagen is playing the keyboards while someone else is singing. I don't think that Donald Fagen sang the song. I do believe he played the Wurlitzer electric piano and also playing the "plastic organ" (a Yamaha YC-30) but the voice DOESN'T SOUND like Donald Fagen and I know that statement is technically original research which must not be used when editing articles. But could someone please tell me who REALLY sang the song? Than you.--Kevjgav (talk) 09:59, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

LYRICS section is unsupported opinion

[edit]

It should be noted that the LYRICS section is unsupported opinion. No references are included, and the first verse of the song, which has nothing to do with addiction, is conveniently ignored. Every point of this section may be readily disputed (for starters, 'go back, Jack' may simply be an expression spoken to anyone -- much like 'Ready, Freddy?' -- thus the verses are not necessarily sung to the same man), and the lyrics may be interpreted, as in many Steely Dan songs, in a completely different way. In the absence of verifiable quotes from the songwriters themselves, the 'opinion' should be replaced with the actual lyrics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Poluistor~enwiki (talkcontribs) 18:52, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I tend to agree, so I have added a "citation needed" tag. We can't just replace this section with the lyrics, as they are under copyright, but we do need some sources, preferably quoting Fagen himself. In the absence of these, the interpretation of a notable critic or commentator might do. But without anything, it will need to go. I wonder have you looked for anything suitable? Thanks.
