Page Move

[edit]

I was about to move the page and create a dab. Reason: There's an Elkins High School in Elkins, West Virginia. Instead of doing this immediately, I propose two possible renames:

  1. Rename to "Elkins High School (Texas)", and then create a dab including a red link for "Elkins High School (West Virginia)"
  2. Rename to full name of "Lawrence E. Elkins High School"

I'll let other interested users work out the details. — Dale Arnett 01:15, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

If someone can write an article, sure. - 24.28.119.202 01:11, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There's no need to add a disambiguation page until someone wants to write an article on the West Virginia school. At that time, the first option is probably the best if it's the most common name for the school. Either way, you can add a redirect from Lawrence E. Elkins High School to Elkins High School right now. Vectro 02:30, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

This article needs severe cleanup. It does not, at present, read in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia; it does not conform to a Neutral Point of View, and it is mostly a list (where prose is preferred). Vectro 02:30, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:EHSlogo.gif

[edit]

Image:EHSlogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:09, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Way too much information

[edit]

Is all of the information in this article really suitable for an encyclopedia? I don't think it's necessary to list every time any of their teams have placed in some sort of competition. Perhaps we can reduce this to only first place wins and/or only national competitions. I also think we don't need a whole list of their fine arts offerings, or at least the section can be shrunk so it takes up less space. And for all the controversies in the "notoriety" section, I think most or all of them can be removed. Most or all of those things are not notable whatsoever. For examples, verbal threats of school shootings are relatively common, and doesn't need to be mentioned here unless there actually was a school shooting, not just a threat. And in case y'all are wondering, no, I don't have any personal relationship with this school and therefore don't have any ulterior motives here. I stumbled upon this article because I'm a Recent Changes patroller. Gottagotospace (talk) 21:32, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I decided to WP:BOLD and start cleaning some of this up myself. Gottagotospace (talk) 12:07, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
