I've posted a not so stub-like article for the Erie Panthers. I'm assuming nobody will complain, but you never know. I also posted the WikiProject Erie rating tag. My personal opinion is that the article should be rated higher than "Mid", however I feel that it would be important to get other's opinions on the matter as well. I've rated the current article as "C" for now, though again, I personally feel it could be rated higher than that. So, questions/comments...If anyone's even looking that is :) Infero Veritas (talk) 21:01, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I say you rated it just fine :-) I would've went with "C" and "Mid" also. I don't think the importance should bumped any higher as the Otters are also Mid (but I'm starting to think that could be raised). B-class would be possible if you found more sources. Also some phrases like "known for two things...Lots of goals, and Lots of Fights." and "Not only were the fans passionate..." (wouldn't any fan be passionate) could be rewrote to give the article a more NPOV tone. By the way, if you need any other article looked at (Erie related or not) and don't want to go through the process of formally listing it for reassessment, feel free to drop me a note on my talk page. --D.B.talkcontribs 21:30, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well I've also (and I know we're on the Panther's talk page here but..) got a rather large update to the Otters' page coming as well. I would agree that I need more sources, unfortunately there seems to be a shortage of those for the Panthers. Tons of stuff for the Blades and Otters, but since the Panthers were the bottomless abyss for hockey players (once they play here, they're doomed to mediocrity) it's tough. I also agree that some of the phrasing needs redone. I tried to take my personal feelings out of it as best I could. But I couldn't come up with another way of pointing out that the Panthers were known for those two things...high scoring games with tons of fighting/cheap shots. I've never seen a game in my life where they cancel it after the second guy leaves on a stretcher...other than here in Erie. On another note, I think that the Otters' page should for sure be a High importance article, as well as this one. When the city gets upset that a team is leaving (they didn't give a poo poo about the blades leaving) that would suggest to me that it's important.
So...is there anything that you see that might be lacking, or could be expanded on? I'm not sure how old you are, you may not even have been around for the Panthers lol. Infero Veritas (talk) 03:19, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just an update, I made some changes based on the suggestions you made. Infero Veritas (talk) 03:38, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The phrasing is better, still needs sourcing, though. I wonder if the archives of Erie Times-News has more information on the Panthers. A bit more history wouldn't hurt (any notable incidents?). I would've been old enough able to remember the Panthers probably for the last few years before they left, had I lived in Erie that is. I was watching the Vipers and Red Wings at that time. --D.B.talkcontribs 03:59, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Any chance you know of a site online where The Erie Times keeps archived articles?Infero Veritas (talk) 13:49, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For free, no. I usually have to wait until I'm back in Erie and just go down to library. --D.B.talkcontribs 17:38, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
