Odd bits

[edit]

I removed the following editorializing from the article that was hidden. If there is anything worth adding back, someone may wish to dig through it and do so. GenQuest "Talk to Me" 00:04, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Major historical events that occurred in community, arrival of railway, arrival of settlers, ethnic bloc settlement, construction of grain elevator. First Nations, and pre history of the area. See Online Historical Map Digitization Project listed in external links for helpful URLs for historical appearance of community's surrounding area as well as historic rail lines. The naming convention of the community can also be listed here, or changes in names, or difference between rail station, post office, school district, or community name. Historically one name may have been in use more than the others till it was adopted as the current name. School districts usually changed name to adopt the community name, once the community became officially established. Add the name as Community's popular name, Noth West Territories in the infobox if the post office / community was established before 1905. Before 1905 it would be part of the Noth West Territories As well add the name of the provisional district of the North West Territory, the community belonged to, whether, Assiniboia (south) - which was further divided into East Assiniboia and West Assiniboia, Saskatchewan (central), or Athabasca / Athabaska (north). For the various township boundaries of the provisional districts see Map information Sask Gen Web

If article is about a rural municipality then discover if it changed names. If it is larger than one township 6 miles by 6 miles, there was an amalgamation with other R.M.'s. Investigate what it was named as a Local Improvement District, LID or what its name was as a Fire District, Statute Labour and Fire (SLF) District or Statute Labour District. LID and SLF's were precursors to R.M.'s.
