Fabulous Fab?

[edit]

Mentioning the fact that the SEC revealed that Fabrice Tourre referred to himself as 'Fabulous Fab' in an e-mail seems mostly an exercise in titillation to me. I don't think it sets the conservative, encyclopedic, tone that Wikipedia's policy requires of biographies of living persons. Does anyone have an objection to me removing it? —RP88 16:15, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Own Article

[edit]

I disagree with the unilateral move to eliminate this article and create a redirect to another. Fabrice Tourre has become an icon of the financial crisis. He is notable not merely for his direct personal involvement in the broad financial crisis, his specific involvment in the specific colossal scandal at Goldman Sacks, the investigation of him by federal agents, but also his flamboyant and narcissistic style iconified by his self-invented moniker "The Fabulous Fab". Several Newspaper articles have profiled him specifically, and he has become notable in his own right.

In addition to several sources cited in the previous article, I would like to list several others:

Over two years ago I made the case that Fabrice Tourre warranted his own article. This has only become more compelling in light of Fabrice's role in the Abacus case as established by ongoing litigation. Since there are no objections, I will begin restoring the article.
