Name Change

[edit]

I think the title/name should be changed from "Fellowship of Catholic University Students" to "FOCUS (Catholic Organization)". The organization, historically known as "The Fellowship of Catholic University Students", has shifted its brand identity and now primarily identifies itself simply as "FOCUS".

This change will accurately reflect the current name of the organization, as is shown on their official website: https://focus.org/

In the interest of transparency, I would like to disclose that I am an employee of FOCUS and am making this suggestion as part of my work. I believe this change serves to improve the accuracy and clarity of the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.205.209.193 (talk) 20:29, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Campuses

[edit]

The number of campuses listed for Feb 2019 is incorrect. I work with FOCUS. The correct number for the 2018-2019 academic year is 153 campuses. I cannot update that page since I work with them and it would be a conflict of interest. Could someone else update that incorrect number of 170?

The press release on it is here: https://www.focus.org/about/news-press-room/recent-press-releases/millennial-catholics-on-campus-renew-faith-with-focus.

This news article also has the correct number of 153 in the last paragraph: https://archokc.org/news/focus-bolsters-faith-for-college-students. SliePre (talk) 15:04, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Is it the same Curtis Martin? (1) this organization is not mentioned in his linked biography; (2) his athletic background in football is unrelated to the field of Catholic theology; and (3) the dates seem slightly incongruent. Radiorachel (talk) 16:19, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Curtis Martin in the link is a NFL player not the Curtis Martin who cofounded FOCUS 192.54.222.133 (talk) 01:10, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All references to Curtis Martin have been removed. This is definitely something to watch for in future edits to this page. Nmarshall25 (talk) 21:42, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
