First long poem by British author set in America?

The page about Campbell in The CyberHymnal™ says that this was "the first long poem by a British author set in America". If this can be documented better, I think it should be mentioned in this page and/or in the article on Campbell. --Haruo (talk) 13:57, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
