Change "White Nationalist" to "Christian Nationalist"

[edit]

They explicitly and philosophically reject the former and embrace the latter. Not once, has Nick ever affirmed the former, and the members of his movement, the groypers, come from all backgrounds, including Jews and Ethnic Minorities.

The former is a slander applied for political expediency from their opponents. It does not belong in this article especially given how vocal Nick is about not only rejecting "White Nationalism", but also debating and making fun of people who proclaim that they are. 64.180.207.173 (talk) 03:17, 11 October 2022

You need to provide support from reliable sources. Being on a first name basis with Fuentes is not sufficient. -- 2600:8802:5913:1700:FDCF:12C6:8FE6:50EB (talk) 06:18, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Neo Nazis

[edit]

@DocZach: Hi, which of the sources you added calls them neo-nazis? Could you give the exact quote? --FMSky (talk) 20:53, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Fuentes has made a name for himself as the leader of a group who call themselves “Groypers.” The group consists of mostly younger, white men and members are known for their embrace of racist slurs and politics, admiration for the Nazis and Holocaust denial."
Nicole Hemmer, a historian at Vanderbilt University who focuses on the far right, told TPM: “The Groypers are essentially the equivalent of neo-Nazis … They’re an extremist group that is OK with violence.” DocZach (talk) 21:16, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@FMSky - When you first made the edit to remove that ([1]), I was skeptical and looked through the sources. I was surprised to find that none explicitly call the Groypers "neo-Nazis". I believe you are correct. None of the sources DocZach provided ([2], [3], [4]). They say individuals are neo-Nazis (Fuentes) and that the Groypers are "essentially equivalent to" them, but they don't call the Groypers themselves that label. We cannot make that final connection to say "Groypers are neo-Nazis" without RS being clear on it. EvergreenFir (talk) 21:19, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes thats my point, we need to be precise about this type of stuff. "Essentially the equivalent of" doesnt cut it --FMSky (talk) 21:20, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A vast amount of sources describe Nick Fuentes as a neo-Nazi and a neo-Nazi leader, and the entire idea of the "Groyper Army" are followers and ideological fans of Nick Fuentes. DocZach (talk) 21:21, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
