Literally no reason to ever take that off this page. HLTV is pretty infamous for the trolling on its forum from people in 50+ countries so this probably should be indeff'd. The moment it expires someone will make a post about it on the forum and it'll start all over. Nole (chat·edits) 18:08, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In the Section history "In 2016, HLTV launched dust.dk, a website dedicated to the Counter-Strike scene in Denmark." should be changed to ...launched dust2.dk, ... dust.dk is a website about horses and not counter-strike. dust2.dk is the correct site. In the same regard the title of source 8 has to be chanched to "Dust2.dk" as well. 77.23.14.215 (talk) 16:16, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

On February 28th, HLTV was acquired by Better Collective, a sports betting media company. It was purchased for €34.5 million, and the deal included their sister site dust2.dk

Additionally, the mention of HLTV's acronym — "HLTV, which stands for Half-Life Television" — would be better worded as "HLTV, formerly an acronym of Half-Life Television", as I doubt that the acronym is acknowledged anymore, if it was at all. Visitors/mo

[edit]

Just commenting this for future editors/discussions. After the purchase by Better Collective, a number of sources started reporting this 26.5 million visitors per month number. As best I can tell, this comes directly from the HLTV announcement and should be viewed with caution. Treat that as a primary source unless we get someone better reporting on that. Kennys should be in 6 with 61 points and he isn't even in the rank 20. He should have 61 points going into this logic. 2013 - 9 points - Rank 12 2014 - 15 points - Rank 6 2015 - 15 points - Rank 6 2016 - 8 points - Rank 13 2017 - 14 points - Rank 7

Well, the reason he wasn't in that list was that it only included people with at least one top-3 ranking. However, I've removed that entire table from the article as apparent WP:OR / WP:SYNTH since it appears to me that this ranking system was invented for this Wikipedia article. Courtesy ping to Phosphor who added this information last year - please feel free to re-add if a reliable source is provided to support this information. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 20:00, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In the 2022 top 17th player, the czech flag is assigned to David "frozen" Čerňanský but he is slovak. The flag should be changed from the czech flag to the slovak flag. 78.98.251.181 (talk) 01:38, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Update HLTV being an "acronym" to being an "initialism"

[edit]

Acronyms are intialisms that are spoken, like RADAR. You don't say "huhtulv" you say aitch-ell-tee-vee, you spell it out. That makes it an initialism, not an acronym 2A00:23C8:881E:A201:E4A6:CD4:A5B5:1F9F (talk) 20:23, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
